AFL Update: Nov. 7, 2021

Surprise’s woes continued in a 12-9 loss to Mesa – the Sagaruos’ fifth loss in the last six games.

Three Nationals were in the Surprise starting lineup:

  • Donovan Casey (pictured) led off and played center field. He reached base three times with two singles and a walk and drove in two.
  • Jackson Cluff batted No. 2 and went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored. In the field, shortstop it was, he had five putouts and took part in two double plays.
  • Israel Pineda was the eighth batter and went 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.

The Sagauros (13-8) return to action tomorrow afternoon as they host the Rafters.

AFL Update: Nov. 3, 2021

The Surprise bullpen coughed up three in the 7th and three more in the 8th as Peoria handed the Sagauros their second straight loss.

Just one National appeared in the game – Donovan Casey (pictured).

Casey led off and played centerfield. He doubled, walked, and scored two runs to improve his Fall line to .258/.385/.516 in nine games. In the field, he had three putouts.

Surprise (12-5) will head to Salt River (6-10) this afternoon.
