Last night was the AFL Home Run Derby, ahead of tonight’s Fall Stars Game. Tony Blanco, Jr. was the winner while Ethan Petry (pictured) lost in the semi-final round.

The Scorpions broke open a one-run game with a three-spot in the 7th and added one in the 8th as they took this one, 7-3.
Three Nationals appeared in the game:
Scottsdale (17-7) heads to Mesa (12-12) tonight and now leads the league by two games with five games left.
Pitching took the day off as the Solar Sox torched the Scorpions, 21-14.
Pablo Aldonis was the opener for Scottsdale and gave up a run on three hits and a walk over two innings. He threw 38 pitches, 22 for strikes.
Ethan Petry was the sole National in the starting lineup. He batted seventh and went 1-for-5 with an RBI at the plate and had one putput while chasing down five hits on defense.
Austin Amaral was charged with his second blown save of the fall as he let in four runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk over two innings.
The Scorpions (16-7) visit the second-place Sagauros (14-7) this afternoon.

Scottsdale blew a 5-1 lead and fell behind 6-5 before getting single runs in the 7th and 9th to walk off Salt River, 7-6.
The bullpen meltdown took away a possible win from Jake Bennett (pictured), who spun five innings of one-run ball while scattering seven hits, walking one, and fanning two.
Sam Petersen and Ethan Petry once again manned the corners of the outfield. Petersen singled, doubled, and drove in a run in five trips to the plate. Petry went 1-for-5. The two combined to strike out four times.
Jared Simpson rounded out the foursome of Nats in the game. The 25-y.o. let in one of two inherited runners but put up two goose eggs while allowing a hit, walking none, and striking out two.
The Scorpions (15-6) remain home to close out the week as they host the Rafters (8-13).
