Rochester missed an extra point but held Omaha to field goal for a 13-3 win. Zak Kent led the relievers brigade with a run on a homer, no walks, and five K’s over two and 2/3rds. Matt “I am a” Krook was credited with a win despite giving up a run on two hits in his single inning pitched. The seven pitchers combined for 15 strikeouts. Seaver King singled twice, homered twice, and drove in six while Max Romero Jr. reached base three times on a walks and two singles as the Red Wings marched to a 13-hit parade. Roster moves: Paxton Schultz activated from T.I.L.

The RubberDucks edged the Senators, 2-1 to take a 2-1 series lead. DJ Herz faced nine batters over two-plus scoreless innings with one hit and two walks. Josh Hartle took the loss with both Akron runs let in on four hits and a walk He struck out four. Ethan Petry ended the shutout bid with a solo HR – the sole extra-base hit for Harrisburg out six total. Roster moves: RHP Blake Brown activated from Development List.
Frederick vs. Wilmington – PPD
The rains that swept through the DMV yesterday rendered the grounds at Frawley Field unplayable. They’ll shoot to make it up tonight with another doubleheader, the second of the series (so far).

The Cannon Ballers blasted the FredNats ‘pen for a 9-5 win in Game Three. Juan Reyes turned in three scoreless innings before turning the ball over to Clarence Martina, who was strafed for six runs on three hits and five walks while matching your strikeout total over an inning and a 1/3rd. Fredericksburg converted three hit batsmen and six walks into five runs with just three hits – doubles by Dashyll Tejeda and Hunter Hines and a single by Christhian Vaquero.
King faced the starter four times. two times when he saw pitches in the zone he singled, on the others when he was fed pitches out of the zone he got himself out. not trying to throw water on his success but this is who he is.

Weird take. Having you seen Daylen Lile or Dylan Crews or even Abimelec Ortiz or Brady House at the plate this year. Batter have success when they swing at pitches in the zone, and don’t when they fish for pitches outside the zone. This is who every batter is, except a very small select few.
The thing about King is that his exit velos are elite, which makes it more likely that the ball finds a hole or ends up over the fence when he makes contact.
I get all that. last nights game was a rare chance to see batter vs pitcher four times in MiLB.
of the four you reference I have little hope that House ever succeeds, slighly more optomistic on Lile and am afraid Ortiz may only be a platoon bat, albeit a pretty good one.
Crews is the wild card of the group and he had a pretty good AB vs DeGrom last night. if he can overcome the pressure of his pedigree…
