Rochester opened the game with a five-run 1st and never looked back as they destroyed Worcester, 12-1. Jack Sinclair was the opener and tossed two perfect innings. The win went Holden Powell, who allowed the (ugh) WooSox run on two hits and three walks while striking out two. Brady House led the Red Wings’ 16-hit parade with three singles and a double, followed by Yoyo Morales with two singles and a double and Abimelec Ortiz with two HR and five RBI. Roster moves: RHP Clayton Beeter returned Washington (end of MLB Rehab), effective May 21.
Akron vs. Harrisburg – PPD
They pulled the plug on this one about three hours before first pitch. Given the forecast of rain today, they’ll shoot to make it up with a twi-night doubleheader tomorrow night. Roster moves: RHP Marquis Grissom Jr. activated from 7-Day I.L.

In the opening game, which was delayed by an hour and 46 minutes, Jersey Shore got four in the top of the 2nd and Wilmington got two back in the bottom half. After that, it was a MAHA-MAGA debate (nothing but zeroes, folks) as the two teams ‘pens held the line. Frank Bruni took the loss, charged with four runs on two hits and four walks with one whiff. Euri Montero “assisted” by walking three of four batters faced and letting in two inherited runners. T.J. White, Angel Feliz, and Yeremy Cabrera each had a single to round out the Blue Rocks’ hit column.

In the nightcap, which began at 9:04pm, Riley Maddox and Baron Stuart combined to shut out the BlueClaws, 1-0 on three hits. Maddox went six full for the first time this season, allowing all three Jersey Shore hits, two walks, and striking out five. Stuart worked around two baserunners (walk, HBP) in the 7th to earn the save. Angel Feliz scored the lone run on a steal of third and kept on going home after the ball got past the Jersey Shore catcher. Feliz and Hunter Hines both doubled while Elijah Green and Teo Banks singled to account for the four (4) Wilmington hits.

Fredericksburg couldn’t outhit its bullpen’s foibles in a 7-5 loss to Fayetteville, ending a six-game winning streak. Mikey Tepper hit his pitch count with one out in the 3rd after allowing a run on four hits and a walk. He struck out four. Luke Johnson was charged with a blown save after giving up the tying runs in his three innings while Levi Huesman took the loss with three runs allowed in his single inning pitched. Rafael Ramirez Jr. reached base three times on a bunt single, a walk, and a double while Coy James and Gavin Fien both went 2-for-5 to lead the FredNats attack.

The FCL Nationals homered three times in regulation and got a sac fly in the 8th to take a 4-3 lead. Alas, Camilo Sanchez wild-pitched the free runner to third and gave up the equalizer on a groundout, then back-to-back singled followed by a three-run HR to lose, 7-4. Ty Bothwell went the first four inings and let in two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five. Nauris De La Cruz rounded out the four-hit barrage and drew one of the two walks, with Victor Hurtado taking the other base-on-balls.
Rafael Ramirez hitting .340 for the month of May with more walks than strikeouts and 50% of his hits are for extra bases. stay hot and stay healthy kid!
