Shinnosuke Ogasawara made the trek from Pennsylvania to take Mitchell Parker’s roster spot and gave up all three Buffalo runs on six hits (one HR) and a walk while striking out three. Seth Shuman retired five of seven batters faced, stranding a runner in the 5th and walking two. Riley Adams’s Earl Weaver special in the bottom of the 6th got Shuman the “W.” After two scoreless from Julian Fernández and Jack Sinclair, Eddie Yean worked around two baserunners in the 9th to earn the save. Yoyo Morales singled three times in four trips to the plate while Andrés Chapparro and Dylan Crews homered to power the Rochester offense. Roster moves: LHP Shinnosuke Ogasawara reassigned from Harrisburg.
Harrisburg vs. Erie – PPD
Rain washed away Game Two of the first Harrisburg-Erie series. They’ll shoot to make it up tonight with a twi-night twinbill.

Fredericksburg battled back from a 4-2 deficit to take a 5-4 lead but the FredNats ‘pen was not up to the task, coughing up three in the 8th to lose, 6-5. Leuris Portorreal was strafed for seven hits over four and 1/3rd innings, letting in three runs. After Eli Willits (solo) and Ronny Cruz (2R) both went deep in the 7th to capture the lead, Cesar Rojas gave it all back on three-run HR in the 8th to wear the “L.” Yeremy Cabrera led the Frederickburg hit column with a triple and two singles. The FredNats went just 3-for-15 with RISP and left on ten baserunners. Roster moves: RHP Johan Otanez placed on the 7-Day I.L.; LHP Ben Moore activated from the 7-Day I.L.
Really impressed with Ronny Cruz and Yeremy Cabrera so far. Looks like 2 astute pick up.
That’s a really GOOD HR from Crews, because it came off Trey Yesavage, currently rehabbing.
Before anyone gets excited about Green’s 3rd HR, remember his K% is currently at 51%.
I’d include Fitz-Gerald in your list of astute pickups
Interesting that Wilmington is playing Ethan Petry in RF and Randal Diaz at 1B. Diaz was drafted as a middle infielder and has played OF, but if Petry can play OF along with 1B that would make him more versatile.
Can see why the Nats don’t want to give up on Green despite his horrid K rate. He has crazy tools.
BTW, from Mark Zuckerman:
LHP Richard Lovelady is back with the Nationals, acquired from the Mets for cash less than a month since he went to NY on a waiver claim. LHP Ken Waldichuk was transferred to the 60-day IL to clear a 40-man roster spot.
Petry is a talent make up who reminds me of someone from decades ago who would patrol
OF and 1B.
Looks like Delino Senior will have a roster in flow all summer
Especially in the rotation and pitching staff
