Rochester got three in the and two in the bottom of the 9th… but still fell short in a 7-5 loss to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Cade Caballi continues to disappoint, allowing four runs on ten (10) hits over six innings. He walked none and struck out seven while taking his sixth loss. Nick Schnell singled and doubled while Robert Hassell had two safeties and two RBI to lead the Red Wings’ nine-hit, three-walk offense.

The Senators rallied for three in the 7th to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead then added an insurance run in the 8th to down the RubberDucks, 5-2. With the threat of rain, Chance Huff was sent out to open the game and went two and 2/3rds, giving up a run on two hits and three walks before giving way to the listed starter, Hyun-Il Choi, who allowed a run over two innings. Dustin Saenz held the fort for the next two and a 1/3rd and picked up the win after Max Romero’s RBI single turned into a Little League three-run triple after Akron’s Wuilfredo Antunez tried to throw the ball before fielding it. Kevin Made, Branden Boissiere, and Delino DeShields each went 2-for-4 with Made doubling, homering, and stealing a base to power the Harrisburg offense.
Wilmington vs. Jersey Shore – PPD
Wilmington and Jersey Shore were rained out last night. They’ll shoot to make it up tonight with a twi-night doubleheader.

• Johnson (L, 0-1) 3⅓ IP, 6H, 3R, 3ER, 1BB, 3K, HBP

It was neither fun nor Wang Chung last night as Los Fundadores fueron excluidos, 5-0 en seis sencillos. Luke Johnson lost his Low-A debut, giving up three runs on six hits, a walk, and a Robles. He struck out three. All three Fredericksburg doubles came with nobody on base and just one of three singles—Christhian Vaquero, who also walked and doubled—came in the ten RISP chances as the FredNats left ten men on base.

The DSL Nationals’ bullpen imploded in the 7th turning a 1-1 tie into a 6-1 loss to the DSL Tigers 2. Enmanuel Carela tossed four shutout innings in his third start to lower his ERA to 1.69. Manuel Ruiz retired just two of seven batters faced as all five baserunners he allowed scored with an “assist” from Jose Sanchez on a wild pitch and two singles before getting out of the inning. Brayan Cortesia had his first multihit game in more than two weeks with a triple and a single while Marconi German walked and singled to lead the D-Nats attack.

Hassell has 14 hits in his last seven games, albeit only one for extra bases. Meanwhile, Pinckney launched his 13th homer, against just five doubles, which is a crazy stat.
The clock is about to strike midnight on Cavalli’s career as a starter. I still think he has a good chance to be a highly effective late-inning reliever, but the starter party is over.
missing from the Harrisburg recap, is the fact that Choi did not give up a homerun
