Zero walks for Clemmey is a big deal, as is the very efficient 60 pitches over five innings, with 43 strikes. We don’t talk about him that much, but he’s probably one of the Nats’ top three or four prospects right now. First Clemmey game this season with less than two walks. In his last start, it took him 95 pitches to go 5.2 IP, so this was a remarkable improvement in efficiency. He was at 93 pitches for 5.0 IP three starts ago. Maybe Hudson Valley swang earlier in counts, but on paper, this looks like a very encouraging step forward.
Good for Clemmey. He turns 20 in July.
