Jack Sinclair retired just one of six batters faced in the 8th and was charged with six runs (five earned) on four hits and a walk. A dishonorable mention to Patrick Weigel, who came on with the bases loaded and one out and emptied them along with two runs of his own on a HR. Nick Schnell and Andrew Pinckney both singled twice to lead the Red Wings seven-hit assault. Akron scored its final two runs in the 7th when Glasser lost a fly ball in the twilight that would have been the third out.
Last night was DeJong’s eleventh rehab game for the Sens. Anybody have any rationale on why he hasn’t played some in Rochester or isn’t back with the Nats?
Luke I think all of us conjured up the inevitable about Stuart in the line score with 14 pitches
Not to sound cold like a John D Rockefeller but but .. the assembly line of player development continues

Tyler Stuart — oh no. He’s one I have some good hopes for. Fingers crossed that it isn’t serious.
Cade Cavalli — oh no. He’ll turn 27 in less than two months and he’s looking pretty mediocre at the AAA level. His 10 AAA starts are not a small sample size. He’s got a 5.27 ERA and is surrendering 9.0 hits per nine, in addition to 4.2 walks. I kept the faith about him and was touting him during the offseason as someone I really thought would surge and be showing something at the MLB level by now. Unless things turn around for him soon, though, we’re getting into Rutledge territory. In fact, Rutledge is younger than Cavalli and they’ve already kicked him to the bullpen.
Cavalli is reaching a career tipping point. I’m still rooting for him to turn into a significant asset, but it’s time for the results to match the “projection.”
This summer draft should have a handful of interesting arms to consider for rotation spots .
Lead off by Kade or Jaime
