Brian Goodwin was the sole National to play in Mesa’s 7-3 win over Scottsdale yesterday afternoon.
Goodwin, who once again led off and played CF, smacked a two-run homer — his first of the fall season — to erase a 1-0 Scorpions lead in the bottom of the 6th. Former National David Freitas, who had walked to lead off the inning, scored ahead of him.
