The Bisons went on four-run stamped in the of the 1st and never trailed in a 6-1 win over the Red Wings. Jared Simpson gave up those four runs on six hits and a walk over an inning and a 1/3rd to take the loss and have his ERA balloon to 2.30 from 1.02. Max Romero Jr. ended the shutout bid with a solo HR in the 3rd, one of seven hits on the night for Rochester with Cayden Wallace the sole batter to collect more than one hit.

Yoel Tejeda Jr. dug an 8-0 hole that Harrisburg almost climbed out of with five runs in the 9th. They needed six, as they fell, 9-8. Tejeda allowed eight hits, including four homers, walked three, and struck out one (1) over four and 2/3rds innings. It was his sixth straight start of allowing three runs or more. Devin Fitz-Gerald doubled twice, scored once, drove in five, and struck out three times while Sam Brown singled and homered and plate two to lead the Senators offense.

The BlueClaws got single runs in both the 1st and 2nd innings while the Blue Rocks got singles from Jacob Walsh in the 2nd and Chris Hacopian in the 4th as the Blue Rocks were shut out, 2-0. Carson Fischer went the first five innings and gave up both Jersey Shore runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three. R.J. Sales finished the game with three perfect innings and five strikeouts. Eli Willits and Yeremy Cabrera both walked and stole second but Wilmington went 0-for-4 trying to get them home.

Fredericksburg rallied for five in the 7th to erase a 6-1 deficit but fell, 7-6 when Delmarva’s bullpen rolled 1-2-3 frames in the 8th and 9th innings. Marlon De La Cruz “only” gave up two unearned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two. As per usual, the FCL social promotions were not up to snuff, with Jacob Weaver coughing up four runs in 3⅔ innings and Cesar Rojas letting in the gamewinner for his fourth loss. Rafael Ramirez Jr. singled, double, and drove in a run to lead a FredNats attack that squeezed six runs from seven hits and five walks with a 4-for-9 mark with RISP.

Joe Glassey went 8 full innings before allowing a hit. He’s still sporting a perfect 0.00 ERA and minuscule 0.20 WHIP through 10 IP.
Glassey career ERA sits at 1.91 across three seasons now. Impressive, especially for an UDFA!
Something I haven’t seen get much attention is the aggressiveness on the base paths among our prospects. 9 players have 30 or more SBs this season, and 16 are at 20+!

Last season, no one stole more than 36 bases (N. Nunez) in the minors, but 19 players managed 20+. We’ll have to see if some guys like E. Nunez (at 16) or Wallace (at 14) will be able to sneak into the 20s before the season ends.
One interesting omission: Seaver King. King stole 30 bases last season (and 10 in 20 games in 2024), while he only has 14 this season. It seems like he’s traded aggressiveness on the basepaths for aggressiveness at the plate. That’s a compromise I’m willing to make!
What happened to Gavin Fien? He hasn’t played since August 23, and there’s been no corresponding IL move. Weird to let a roster space go unused like that when there’s presently a backlog of bats (’26 draftees) whiling away in the XST camp.
