The Red Wings answered the Bisons’ two-spot in the top of the 4th with four runs in the bottom of the 4th, highlighted by Liover Peguero’s three-run double. The two teams traded runs in the 5th and zeroes the rest of the way as Rochester winged Buffalo, 5-3. Isaac Lyon was knocked from the box with two out in the 4th with the aforementioned two runs let in on two hits and two walks while striking out… wait for it… two. Chandler Champlain picked up the win with four and a 1/3rd innings of one-run relief while Yovanny Cruz worked around a double in the 9th to get the save. Peguero also singled, walked, and stole a base as did Yoyo Morales while going 2-for-4. Trey Lipscomb had his 28-game on-base streak snapped with an 0-for-4 night with three whiffs.

There were just two innings in which neither team scored as Chesapeake outlasted Harrisburg, 9-7 in 10 innings. With the promotions of two starters and a reliever earlier this week, the Nats’ fetish with bullpen games is now at AA. Thomas Schultz opened the game with a scoreless frame. Jhancarlos Lara blew a 7-6 lead in the 8th to help force extras where Sandy Gaston served up a two-run HR and gave up an insurance run in the 10th for his fifth loss. Devin Fitz-Gerald reached base five times on two singles, two walks (the first with the bases loaded) while Nick Mitchell got on three times with a walk and two singles and Ethan Petry singled and homered to lead the Senators offense.

In the opener, the Blue Rocks broke open a 2-1 game with two in the 6th and four in the 7th as they boiled the BlueClaws, 8-1. Miguel Sime Jr. gave up the sole Jersey Shore run on a hit and two walks while striking out six over four innings. Josiah Gray picked up the win as he retired five of seven batters faced with one hit, one walk, and one whiff. Jacob Walsh singled, doubled, and drove in two while Luke Dickerson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Juan Cruz homered, walked twice, and stole two bases to lead the Wilmington offense.

The crab fest continued in Game Two as Wilmington tanned the Jersey Shore, 11-2 for the doubleheader sweep. Riley Maddox turned in five innings of one-run ball on five hits and a walk to earn his seventh “W” at High-A. Eli Willits singled three times while Jacob Walsh hit a grand slam in the 3rd and a two-run double in the 7th as the Blue Rocks had eight hits total and walked seven times, with Teo Banks the sole batter to do neither.

The solar rays are not always present on the same canine’s gluteus maximus as Delmarva supported this hypothesis with its fourth win in 22 games against Fredericksburg, 4-2. Landon Harmon went the first four and allowed an unearned run on a hit and four walks while striking out four. Adam Boucher stranded two in the 6th to hold a 2-1 lead but lost it in the 7th for a blown save and left with two runners on in the 8th. Both runners scored while Zack Konstantinovsky got three outs to saddle Boucher with the loss as well. Dashyll Tejeda singled twice while Kevin Made reached base three times on a single and two walks to lead the FredNats attack.
