The Red Wings erased an early 1-0 deficit with a two-run triple by Brady House but gave it right back for a 2-2 tie that lasted until the 10th. That’s when Rochester rallied for three, highlighted by a two-run double by Trey Lipscomb and the ‘pen held for a 5-2 win. Jackson Kent pitched into the 5th and led in two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six. The win went to Gus Varland with goose eggs in the 9th and 10th innings. He walked one and struck out two, including the last man looking with two men in scoring position. Lipscomb and House both added a single and a walk while Cayden Wallace had two safeties to highlight the Rochester offense. Roster moves: RHP Justin Lawrence outrighted from Washington.

Isaac Lyon led a trio of Harrisburg pitchers to shut out Reading, 10-0 on six hits. Lyon struck out five, walked one, and gave up four hits over the first seven for his fourth win and quality start. Cortland Lawson led the Senators hit column with two singles and a homer, followed by Caleb Farmer with his first two AA homers while Branden Boissiere and T.J. White both went deep as every starter but Ethan Petry had a hit.

The Blue Rocks got three of their five (5) hits in the bottom of the 6th as they retrieved their bounty from the Renegades, 2-1 in the opener. Carson Fischer pitched into the sixth and scattered seven hits and let in the Hudson Valley run while issuing one walk and fanning two. Baron Stuart stranded a runner in the 6th and pitched a 1-2-3 seventh to get his second win. Eli Willits walked, singled, drove in the tying run, and scored the eventual game-winner after stealing his 10th base at High-A (39th overall) on Kevin Bazzell’s RBI double.

When your best reliever on a given night is a position player, chances are things did not go well. A 12-4 thrashing certainly qualifies as Hudson Valley earned the doubleheader split. Mikey Tepper took the brunt of it with seven runs on seven hits (two HR) and four walks over five innings for his third loss. Eli Willits singled, doubled, and scored a run while Jack Moroknek drew a bases-loaded walk and homered to lead the Blue Rocks offense.

Fayetteville broke open a 1-0 game with a five-spot in the 3rd and cruised to a 10-2 win over Fredericksburg. Levi Huesman was dinged for six runs (one earned) on five hits (one HR) and two walks over three innings to lose for the fourth time. The FredNats scored twice in the 9th on four walks (nos. 6-9) and two wild pitches while piling up three (3) singles – one apiece by Dashyll Tejeda, Jordan Williams, and Juan Cruz. Roster moves: RHP Travis Sthele reassigned from Fredericksburg.

The F-Nats lost for the 12th time in their last 18 games, 7-0, and finished below .500. Noah Millikan didn’t make it out of the 3rd as he was blasted for five runs on four hit and four walks to lose his second game. Everett Cooper doubled to highlight the three-hit barrage by the FCL Nationals, who struck out 13 times and walked twice in seven innings. Roster moves: OF Cristhian Vaquero reassigned from Wilmington.

The DSL Nationals got five in the 8th to win their third straight, 9-5, and get to double digits in wins. Jhoan Thomas dug a three-run hole over the first two and 2/3rds on one hit, four walks, and a hit batsman. Jesus Carrasco spun four scoreless in relief with three hits, no walks, and two K’s to win his second game. Samil Serrano reached base four times on two singles and two walks and scored twice while Isaias Suarez drove in three on a triple and a sac fly while drawing a walk, scoring a run, jumping to the left, twisting to the right, and stealing two bases to pace the D-Nats attack. Roster moves: RHP Daniel Nolasco assigned from Washington (MLFA).
