It was the best of times and the worst of times as the Red Wings had their souls tried for a 6-5 loss in extra innings. Chandler Champlain had a shutout going until the 7th when he let in a tun and left with the bases loaded. PJ Poulin worked out of the bases-loaded, nobody-out jam and was in line for the win when Riley Adams hit a two-run HR in the bottom of the 7th. A three-run lead was too small for Eddie Yean to hold in the 9th, as he registered his 5th blown save on a two-out, three-run HR. After an 85-minute delay, the (ugh) WooSox completed their comeback with two runs in the 10th off Seth Shuman and the Red Wings could only get back one run.

Juan Duran singled twice and stole a base while Euris Acosta reached base twice on a walk and single. The rest of the lineup went 1-for-17 with four walks and three whiffs.
LOL I ranted about the amateurishness of the FCL, and the Mets go and walk 14 batters! Its hard to parse how well our guys are playing when opposition pitching is so, so bad. 17 runs and we only had ONE extra base hit!!
A really tough opener for the new Senators. Fitz-Gerald, Petry and White went 1 for 11 with 8 Ks. Ouch.
Moroknek, though, had a really good first game!
I didn’t catch it yesterday, but Schoff was reassigned to the FCL. I really don’t understand what’s going on there. It doesnt appear to be injury related, because he’s being used quite frequently in Florida. But why do you keep him in the FCL? He’s 27 and a decent relief arm. There has to be some other extenuating circumstances, because it doesnt make sense.
Same with S.O being placed on the devevelopmrnrak list aka old days
Temporary taxi squad
Doby Gillis oops I mean
Brock welcome to the Nats
Portland Pilots
Freebird fly !
Let’s give the kids a chance to adjust to each level .
Their bags are probably still laying on the floor in the sponsor family’s houses
no at AA they get housing, they don’t have to live with sponsor families
Seaver King’s walk rate: April 16%, May 6.7%, June (SSS) 3.1%. just sayin’
the starting pitcher for Richmond was a sharp as sharp can be. last two outings for him: 13 IP, 3H, 2BB and 22K’s.
at least the kids in WPB are not swinging at that $h!t 🙂
King hit into bad luck yesterday. He had exit velos of 111 and 101 that both ended up as outs.
Curious move to put Shinnosuke Ogasawara on the developmental list, unless they are limiting his innings. He has been strong for H’burg (2.15 ERA; 0.957 WHIP; 10Ks per nine), and particulary good lately: 4 straight starts giving up 1 run or less; 21Ks/6 BBs. Realize his ceiling is limited, but he was postively progressing in AA.
when I watch Poulin and Lovelady I do not see anything that Ogasawara couldn’t match in terms of stuff. add in his much better command and I think he could get one more shot before the year is out
Hope so.
Human League, the Nats haven’t used host families since 2022. MLB saw all the negative comments from players living in their cars and told the billionaire owners they had to pay for minor league player’s housing. It was long overdue.
