Rochester put up crooked numbers in the 4th, 5th, and 7th to which Charlotte could only answer with single runs in the 5th and the 8th as the Red Wings tripled up the Knights, 6-2. Zach Penrod opened the game with three scoreless, allowing a hit and a walk and striking out two. Robert Cranz was one of three relievers to put up a single goose egg, but the timing was right for him to get the “W.” Abimelec Ortiz and Brady House both went 3-for-4 with a run scored while Andrew Pinckney smacked a two-run HR—his 11th—to power the Rochester offense. Roster moves: RHP Zak Kent recalled to Washington; RHP Gus Varland optioned from Washington.

The Senators scored in six of nine innings to sink the BaySox, 8-3 – their first three-game win streak since the end of May. Isaac Lyon fell one out shy of qualifying for the win, giving up a two-run HR and four hits total, walking two, and striking out six. Alex Young stranded a runner while getting out of the 5th and worked around a one-out single with the help of Sam Petersen preventing a would-be double on a 7-4 putout. Chad Lomavita was a double shy of the cycle, reached base four times, and drove in four while Devin Fitz-Gerald singled three times and scored twice to lead the Harrisburg offense.

Wilmington battled back from a 6-3 deficit with both their bats and their legs as they evened up the series with Frederick with a 8-6 win. Eriq Swan went the first three and was, um, keyed for three runs on four hits (one HR) and two walks with five whiffs. Jacob Roberts (2IP) and Yeuris Jimenez (1IP) locked it down to finish the game to earn the win and save, respectively. Ronny Cruz and Elijah Green led the track meet on the bases with three stolen bases each while Jack Moroknek, Angel Feliz, and Teo Banks each had one. Cruz singled twice and doubled once while Green singled twice and walked twice.

The Warbirds were rallying when the rains came with one run in, one out, and two on in the top of the 4th. Grant Manning had walked three and given up a run on three hits while striking out five. Gavin Fien homered in the previous half inning. They’ll shoot to finish the game tonight at 5:05pm then play a seven-inning game afterwards. Roster moves: RHP L.J. Waco assigned from the FCL.

The DSL Nationals took a 5-4 lead after six and a half but gave up single runs in the 8th and 9th to lose Forrest Gump pause again, 6-5 to the DSL Giants Orange. D-Nats starter Enmanuel Carela tossed three scoreless innings with one hit, two walks, and two strikeouts. The loss went to Aldemaro Sevilla, who lost on a HBP-SB-1B-1B sequence in the space of three batters. Rony Bello drove in four runs, stole four bases, and reached base four times while Esnaider Vargas singled, doubled, walks, and scored twice.
