Nats Edge Mets, 3-2
The Nats scratched out three runs in the middle innings and held off the Mets for a 3-2 win.
Jake Irvin turned in three scoreless innings and put on two baserunners (hit, walk) in his second spring start. He struck out four and threw 44 pitches, 28 for strikes. He was credited with the win.
Harry Ford and Seaver King were in the starting lineup at catcher and second base, batting seventh and ninth respectively.
Ford walked once, stole a base, and struck out twice. King went 1-for-2 with a single.
Four watchlist players came off the bench:
- Sam Brown subbed for James Wood in LF and was 0-for-1.
- Jack Rogers replaced Daylen Lile in RF and went 0-for-1.
- Chad Lomavita followed Ford behind the plate and struck out in his only at-bat.
- Cayden Wallace pinch-hit for King and was 0-for-2 with a whiff.
The Nats (5-2-2) return to West Palm Beach to host the Marlins (3-5). Brad Lord is slated to make his first start of the spring. The game can be heard locally on 106.7 FM, barring any news about the Commanders.
