Trey Lipscomb’s Earl Weaver Special broke open a one-run game as Rochester doubled up Norfolk to stop a three-game slide. Joan Adon was the opener and reminded us why he’s no longer a starter, digging a three-run hole on five hits and two walks after two innings. Andry Lara and Phil Dunshee followed with two goose eggs apiece to earn the win and hold, respectively. Lipscomb, Nasim Nuñez, Andrés Chaparro, and Andrew Pickney each had two hits in the Red Wings’ 11-hit parade, with Chaparro hitting his 11th double and Nuñez swiping two bags. Roster moves: LHP Garrett Davila promoted from Harrisburg.

The Senators put up crooked numbers in the 5th, 6th, and 8th innings to turn a 1-1 nailbiter into a 9-1 laugher to take their third straight from the Sea Dogs. Thomas Schultz threw three no-hit, no-run innings as the opener with one walk and four whiffs. Hyun-Il Choi was credited with the win and gave up the Portland run on home run and three hits total over two innings. Branden Boissiere notched his second four-hit game of ’25 with three singles and his fifth double at AA while Kevin Made also reached base four times with two singles and two walks to pace the Harrisburg offense. Roster moves: RHP Austin Amaral promoted from Wilmington.

• Lomavita 3-4, RBI
• Lawson 2-4, R, BB, E
Wilmington collected ten hits and plated one of them. Alas, Eriq Swan and the bullpen did not combine for a shutout as Aberdeen took the game, 2-1. Swan allowed both runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over four and 2/3rds to take the loss. Chad Lomavita delivered the one hit in ten RISP chances—and three overall—to drive in Cortland Lawson, who also reached base three times on two singles and a walk. The Blue Rocks left on ten baserunners.

The Pelicans went to town on the FredNats bullpen, scoring eight runs in the 6th to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 9-2 lead. Fredericksburg rallied for four in the 8th and one in the 9th but fell two runs short, 9-7. Liam Sullivan struck out eight but needed 83 pitches to get 14 outs, allowing one run on one hit and one walk. Angel Roman took the loss, giving up six runs on five hits (one HR) and a walk, with an “assist” from Bryant Olson, who let in both inherited runners. Luke Dickerson singled, walked, homered, and drove in two while Elijah Nunez had two safeties, scored once, and plated two to lead the Fredericksburg offense.
DSL Nationals 8 DSL Mets Orange 7
• Gimenez 3IP, 6H, 2R, 1ER, 0BB, 1K

• Garces 2-4, R, RBI, OF assist @ 3B
A three-run lead was too small for the DSL Nationals bullpen to hold but the offense rallied late to take this one, 8-7. Greyson Gimenez went the first three, allowing two runs (one earned) one six hits and no walks with one (1) strikeout. Juan Lopez vultured the win despite his third blown save as he let in three runs (two earned) on a triple, a walk, and a Robles while striking out five over two and 1/3rd innings. Jhondel Salas struck out the onlt batter he faced and stranded two to earn the save. Nauris De La Cruz singled once, doubled twice, and walked while Daniel Harenace singled, doubled, scored a run, and drove in a run to pace the D-Nats attack.

All the recent additions debuting this week
Schultz is very quietly having an excellent season. He’s one of a few arms, like Cornelio, to have made some pretty big strides this season, after mediocre starts to their careers.
