The Red Wings batters gave the pitchers three runs to work with after six innings. It wasn’t enough as the Knights got two in the 6th, one in the 8th, and then literally walked off in the 9th for a 4-3 win. Michael Cuevas walked one intentionally and three unintentionally to take the loss. Andrew Pinckney drove in all three Rochester runs on a two-run HR in the 4th and an RBI single in the 6th, which was the Red Wings’ lone hit in 10 RISP chances. Roster moves: OF Robert Hassell, RHPs Orlando Ribalta, Ryan Loutos, LHP Shinnosuke Ogasawara recalled to Washington; RHPs Michael Cuevas, Carlos Romero activated from Development List.

The Senators nearly made Phillip Glasser’s leadoff HR in the 6th stand up, but fell in extras, 3-2. Adrian Sampson threw seven shutout innings, allowing three hits and three walks and striking out four. Erick Mejia let in the tying run in the 9th on a triple and sacrifice fly for his second blown save. Junior Santos took the loss as he let in both the free runner and the leadoff single on another sacrifice fly. Harrisburg tallied six hits total, drew three walks, and left nine runners on base. Roster moves: 1B Sam Brown assigned from Washington.

Jarlin Susana (4IP) and Erik Tolman (3IP) teamed up to shut out the Renegades, 1-0 on three hits. It was the third time this season Wilmington has won while scoring the bare minimum. Susan gave up one hit, walked none, and struck out six on 49 pitches over four innings. Erik Tolman allowed two hits and two walks but preserved the shutout for the win, his second. Jeremy De La Rosa singled twice and stole a base while Sam Petersen singled, stole a base, and scored the only run on a wild pitch.

Hudson Valley returned the favor in the nightcap, blanking Wilmington on three hits, 2-0. It was the tenth time the Blue Rocks have been shut out. Travis “Sunday” Sthele went the distance to notch his third complete game, eighth quality start, and fifth loss. He gave up five hits (one HR), no walks, and struck out five. Marcus Brown walked and doubled while Jeremy De La Rosa and Chad Lomavita both singled. The Blue Rocks went 0-for-9 with RISP and left eight runners on base.
Fredericksburg vs. Columbia – SUSP.
Rain delayed the start of the game 22 minutes and they pulled the tarps 19 minutes later after the FredNats were retired in their half of the 2nd. The game was called 68 minutes later. They’ll finish this one this afternoon, then play a seven-inning game afterwards for a de facto doubleheader.

The D-Nats took a 4-0 lead after two and 1/2 innings but gave it away over the next three innings to lose to the D-Tigers One, 5-4. Enmanuel Carela got knocked from the box with two out in the 4th, charged with four runs (three earned) on three hits and three walks. He struck out four. Jesus Carrasco stranded one in the 4th but gave up a run in the 5th to take the loss, his second. Juan Obispo and Marconi German both reached base twice and scored a run with German swiping two bags and Obipso connecting for his sixth double.
