Harrisburg played for one to tie, as they sacrficed a leadoff walk and inserted a pinch-runner. But after failing to plate the equalizer, Max Romero Jr. blasted a two-out, three-run HR to walk off Akron, 5-3. That a winner out of Daison Acosta, who worked around a walk in the 9th. Isn’t it ironic Alanis Morrisette .
Romero JRleft handed swinger walks off for Sens on the night I had a great conversation with Todd and Kathy Vander woude on my travels into Harrisburg . Of course we talked about Milton Bradley JR s walk off GS bs AA Albany – Colonie Yanx .
Of course I told them about the game I drove from Indianapolis to Akron ( another irony this series ) ( @ Thurman Munson Park ) to watch 19 year old Vlad Sr who ended up schooling and frustrating Akron Indians by almost hitting for the cycle and his tagging up at 3b after a triple on a simple PO to the 3b then being safe at home sent the Akron manager ( Wedge?) over the edge and ejected to the showers .
Bravo no bullpen by committee but Bennett AA debut .
I will be attending the game .
Granted the Meechum auto auction is going on this week .
Bennett build and mechanics made me wander back to one time Expo lefty prospect BJ Wallace

the grand slam was against the Norwich Navigators, and standing in the rain cheering was worth it
Andrew Pinckney has the curious combination of 12 homers but only five doubles. He has a shot at ending the season with 20 homer and 40 SBs. The lack of doubles really drags down his SLG/OPS/wRC+, though. And the 30% K rate is a big impediment for him putting everything together.
The compressed minors really hurt guys like this who have tools but need time to develop. Pinckney was pushed to AAA last year during his first full pro season. For comparison, I thought of Daniel “DJ” Johnson, who I was actually surprised to see got picked up out of the Mexican League this year and got another big-league cup of coffee with the Giants. Anyway, in DJ’s first full pro season, as a college draftee, he spent two third of it at the A level and one third at A+. He spent his entire second full pro season (the time frame Pinckney is now) at AA. After his trade to CLE in the Yan Gomes deal, he spent a third of his third pro season at AA and two thirds at AAA. He finally made his brief MLB debut during his fourth full pro season (the COVID year).
Beautiful night for a game along the Susquehanna for both humans and canines
