Dustin Saenz made his AAA debut and put up three goose eggs with two hits and a walk while striking out none. Rochester blistered Syracuse pitchers for five singles, one double, and three walks with Jackson Cluff and Andrew Pinckney both going 1-for-3 with a walk. Roster moves: RHP Derek Law (MLB Rehab), LHP Dustin Saenz reassigned from Harrisburg; C Drew Millas recalled to Washington.
Akron 8 Harrisburg 1
• Lara (L, 0-1) 2⅔ IP, 7H, 6R, 6ER, 3BB, 3K
• Santos 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 2K
• Stubbs 2-4, 2B

Andry Lara did little to dispute to the Nats’ decision to demote him in an 8-1 Harrisburg loss to Akron. The RubberDucks knocked the 22-y.o. from the box with two out in the 3rd after six runs, seven hits, and three walks. The Senators were more like Congressmen, doing nothing until the 9th until back-to-back singles from Cayden Wallace and C.J. Stubbs put runners on the corners with no outs for Johnathon Thomas. Akron lost the shutout on a double play then ended the game on a groundout.
Hudson Valley 10 Wilmington 3
• Ogasawra 4IP, 5H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 5K

The Blue Rocks led this one 2-0 until the 4th when the Renegades got two back to tie, then batted around and scored eight in the 5th en route to a 10-3 defenestration. Shinnosuke Ogasawara went the first four and let in two runs on five hits and a walk. He struck out five. Wander Arias retired two of eleven batters faced with the aforementioned eight runs charged (four earned) on four hits, two walks, and two Robles. Branden Boissiere singled and doubled and scored the lone Wilmington run while Cortland Lawson reached base twice on a single and a walk. The rest of the lineup went 0-for-22 with five walks and 10 strikeouts.
Kannapolis 3 Fredericksburg 1

• Montero 2IP, 3H, 0R, 1BB, 0K

Fredericksburg fell behind 3-0 after two but could only answer with a solo HR to lose to Kannapolis, 3-1. Bryan Polanco gave up all three Cannon Ballers runs on five hits (one HR) and one walk over five innings. He struck out one while losing his sixth game. Christhian Vaquero homered to end the shutout bid while Luke Dickerson was the sole FredNats batter to have multiple hits with two singles.
What’s it going to take to let Millas start consecutive games (or any games at all, for that matter)?
Lara definitely goes down as the disappointment of the season so far. Such a big drop off from last season’s break out performance.
In general, the bats seem to be collectively cooling off after a relatively good early June. That’s 6 runs scored in 4 games yesterday. Tuesday: 19 (aided by 10 from Fburg). 12 on Sunday (in 3 games), 12 on Saturday…
after watching what I did from Lara’s start last night, I’m not convinced he is healthy.
Fred MD as the bar fly said back to the bartender amidst a chat about Andry Lara – you think ?
Turning to the impending draft , I must toss out this topic :
Holliday or Willits or Anderson .
Let’s draft an Eli ( jah) with a legacy father to replace one truly on life support in FCL. Interesting how one mock draft has Seminole Arnold falling to Cards at tenth pick .
The recent Bobby Blanco piece has me thinking about the 2 nd round possibilities .
Do the Nats choose stud Anderson one or SS Willits or Holliday
Either lefty with first round
Infielder round two ?
Dig the name Kruz Schoolcraft out of Beaverton Oregon bound for Tennessee Vols .
All about fitting the money numbers on the ledger book .
A tale as old as time: Pitcher struggles; gets sent to IL; returns and struggles even more than before IL stint; pitcher gets sent to IL with much more serious injury.

When it comes to the player that the Nats pick #1/#1, I have no idea who it will be. But I am 100% confident that, whoever it is, we will hate the pick.
