AFL Update: Nov. 1, 2023

The Scorpions blew an early 2-0 lead but got one back in the 5th and two in the 6th and held on for a 5-4 win and stopped a three-game slide.

Two Nationals appeared in the game:

● Israel Pineda (pictured below) appeared behind the plate but got no help from his pitchers as the Javelinas were in golf-course mode on the basepaths with four stolen bases. At the plate, Pineda went 2-for-4 with a walk and two whiffs.

● Trey Lipscomb (pictured above) was hitless in five trips to the plate but drew a walk and drove in a run. He manned second base and had three assists and one putout.

Scottsdale (13-11-1) hosts the Solar Sox (10-14) with DJ Herz expected to make his fifth AFL start for 2023.
