That’s when the Patriots got the deciding run on a two-out walk, a steal, then a single to take the opener, 3-2. Alex Troop got the start and turned in five innings of two-run ball on five hits and two walks. He fanned one (1). Reid Schaller took the loss with the aforementioned run in the 6th. Career slash lines of some OFs in the system:
A: .260/.350/.362/.712
B: .228/.329/.352/.682
C: .243/.324/.371/.695
D: .273/.323/.409/.733
A & D have been released, while B & C have been added to the 40-man and pumped up hard by the organization. A is Connell, B is Antuna, C is de la Rosa, and D is Rutherford, released by the Yankees. Perhaps the Yanks understand better what a prospect looks like and what one doesn’t.
Anyway, farewell to Connell, who is just barely 24 and likely can get another look in another system is he wants it. He was always adequately decent but never particularly special. He’s been associated with the organization for seven summers.
Luke ? PTV?
pitch timer violation
Aldonis walked the first three batters of the game, got a force out at home and struck out the last two on 27 pitches. the next three innings were more efficient and effective.
first look at Yankosky, throws pretty hard and can throw a strike when needed. if he’s healthy he could go straight to City Isle
Green may strike out a lot but he doesn’t chase.
Yankosky was somewhat quietly terrific last year. He turns 25 in May, so time is of the essence, but there is plenty of opportunity in the organization right now for quality pitching.
adios Justin Connell, whatever hopes I had for him were dashed after last year in AA. he got the start most every day and yet struggled more as the season went on. good luck young man!
hope Denaburg can keep the streak alive, he still doesn’t appear healthy.
looks like a washout for all except FredNats game
Big puddle in my back yard already off 95 hete south of Aberdeen .
The cyber metrics guys ( or what ever phrase we use ) plug some hits into their systems some fit some don’t fit .
Luke will have a quick write up later today
PPD PPD PPD PPD except maybe the Red Wings
I wonder if the home team guy has a sense of humor to play the Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry sound byte : So you feel lucky punk ? When Kyle Luckham pitches ..
Pitcher from LSU or Dylan Crews
Sort of like the guy at Hollywood party in 1940s deciding between Rita Hayworth and Lana Turner .
The Nats obviously need starting pitching more than they do another outfielder, but of course there’s a lot more injury risk with a pitcher. Skenes also is in his first season focusing exclusively on pitching, so he would be a little raw (like Cavalli and Josiah Gray). Of course the Pirates get first pick between Rita and Lana, so the Nats don’t have to think too hard.
Speaking of the Nats needing pitching, one would hope that the brutal Chad Kuhl experiment would end soon. My guess would be that Peralta will get the first look. Perhaps there will be opportunities for Adon and Irvin later in the summer.
Justin Connell was an 11th round pick from 2017 and this was his 7th year with the organization. At least he made to AA, which is more than most can say.
Donovan Casey put one on the pavillion roof during the first game. Second game Blake introduced himself to us by hitting a homerun first at bat, then went 3-3 overall
