Transaction Update
And we’re back with one of the more reliable offseason staples: the latest transactions via Baseball America:
RE-SIGNED
● RHP Steven Fuentes
SIGNED
● RHP Alberto Guerrero
RELEASED
● OF Yasmany Tomás
No real surprises – the Nats are holding onto some of their longtime projects, picking up one typical AA/AAA free agent, and letting go of a AAAA guy. I’d like to think there might be more of these in the next few weeks, but with the current CBA due to expire to a week from today, this could be it for a while.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Seems hard to believe, but now my oldest is now at the age (22) where we might start calling him “old for the level” if he were a player in the minors. He probably won’t see this, but you should — here he is on his 1st birthday, shortly after discovering a cupcake would not go in his ear.
Great photo!
Very glad to see that Steven Fuentes will have a chance to resurrect his career with us watching closely. He was a shooting star after the 2019 season.
I have no idea who Guerrero is.
Thought Tomas was long gone.
“Long Gone” was running back L.G. (“Long Gone”) Dupre, of the Baltimore Colts in the late 50s.
marlin reliever who had better results @ JAX /AA. he joins the bullpen conga chorus line audition bunch.
Tomas was just a bookkeeping erasure by Boss Todd on the big board.
talk about a waste of investment money for the D-backs.
everytime the Mets pour money into free agents opposing teams fans mutter..bust/DL ffrequent flier…
Yes, glad to have Fuentes back. I wonder whether he was ever completely healthy in 2021.
