Is the Arnesen promotion just a spot start or is it until Stammen returns from replacing Slaten’s spot? I kind of hope they give him another chance to pitch as he seems to have done well in his last outing minus the homerun.
Probably just a spot start, but we can always hope that he’ll be back when they decide to move another “M” starter up to DC.
If it is only a spot start, I am surprised they keep giving them to him. Its like they are saying “you are not good enough to start at AA for us, but we’d like you to start at AAA”. It doesn’t make alot of sense, but I like seeing him get the opportunities because he seems to rise to the level and give it his best. He pitched effectively at AAA last year, especially after the All-Star break.
I don’t think it’s that. I think that they’re saying that “we only think of you as a potential swing guy in the big leagues. We’d like you to have that swing man role at the highest level possible as one of the best swing men in our organization for your age.” Basically, he’s got the Josh Kown role from last year.
