The Astros banged out three in the bottom of the 8th for a 4-4 tie that ended the Nats’ winning streak at three. Stephen Strasburg made his 2021 ST debut and turned in 1⅔ scoreless innings, though he needed 38 pitches to get those five outs – four by way of the K. He walked …
The Nats struck early again and piled on late to take their third straight ST game, 9-5 over the Mets. Joe Ross made his first appearance since last spring, going 1⅔ innings with one run let in on one hit and one walk while striking out three. Once again the watchlist players and notable minor-leaguers …
A pair of two-run rallies combined with some rain helped the Nats take their second straight, 5-3 over the Marlins in six innings. Patrick Corbin got the start and, perhaps not coincidentally, pitched in multiple innings like Max Scherzer did last night. He let in one run on two hits over two innings, with nary …
The Nats coughed up a one-run lead in the top of the 9th but got it back in the bottom half for a 7-6 win over the Cards – their first of the 2021 Spring Training. Washington committed an error to start the inning while St. Louis returned the favor to end it. Max Scherzer …

Safety was cited by MLB for the move, citing the use by AAA teams of commercial airlines to travel rather than private flights as MLB does. Officials said the delay should also increase the chances of players being vaccinated.
There is no word yet on whether this delay will be extended to AA and below, nor has there been any statement regarding the games in states that have defied CDC guidelines on lifting restrictions.
MLB’s season is still scheduled to begin on April 1st.
The Nats regulars went back-to-back-to-back in the 3rd to take a 3-0 lead and extended it to 6-2 with single runs in the 4th, 6th, and 7th. But then came the 9th, where it was SSDD as the Washington ‘pen coughed up five runs to turn a four-run lead into a 7-6 loss to Houston. …
The Washington regulars got three in the 2nd to overcome an early 1-0 deficit, but a two-out error let in two in the bottom of the 9th for a 4-4 tie against St. Louis. Erick Fedde, who’s fighting an uphill battle with an option available, got the start and was touched for a run on …
