AFL Update: Nov. 3, 2024

Salt River sent 13 men to the plate in the 1st and seven came around to score as the Rafters eclipsed the Solar Sox, 8-3.

Two Nationals appeared in the game:

● Max Romero Jr. started behind the plate and batted 6th. He went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.

● Luke Young gave up two runs on three hits and a walk while retiring two of six batters faced while closing out the 3rd inning.

The Rafters return to action tomorrow night when they host the Desert Dogs

AFL Update: Nov. 2, 2024

The Scorpions stung the Rafters for two-spots in the 3rd and 4th innings and cruised to a 4-1 win over the Rafters.

Matt Cronin was the sole National to appear in the game. The 27-y.o. Florida native let in one inherited runner on a double to the first batter he faced before getting a popup to end the 4th. The 2019 4th Rd. pick then retired the side in order in the 5th on two flyouts and a groundout. He threw 11 pitches, nine for strikes.

Salt River (11-10) closes out the week with an afternoon game vs. Mesa (12-9)

Salt River led for about 10 minutes before the Mesa scorched the Rafters moundsmen for 11 runs in the 1st in a 17-4 defenestration yesterday afternoon. AFL Update: Oct. 31, 2024

The Rafters blew a 5-0 lead but walked off the Javelinas in the 9th to win their third straight, 6-5.

Two Nationals appeared in the game:

● Chase Solesky got the start and tossed three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out five. He threw 42 pitches, 27 for srtikes.

● Robert Hassell homered with nobody on and two out in the 4th and struck out twice on a 1-for-5 afternoon at the plate as the Salt River leadoff hitter. In the field, he played center and had three putouts.

Salt River (11-8) travels to Mesa (11-8) this afternoon to battle for third-place supremacy in the AFL.
