Reminder: On Tuesdays “probables” is nicer way of saying “best guess,” given the Nats’ new fetish with openers and games notes almost never listing starters beyond the current series.
Rochester Red Wings, 31-20, T1st I.L. East, ½ GA – 76-48 overall
Rochester’s hot streak has put them back into first place in the second half, which would be a bigger deal if the playoffs weren’t a perfunctory best-of-three for the league championship and a coin flip single, I.L. vs. P.C.L. game for the so-called Triple-A National Championship. After playing its second and final series against I.L. West opponent, the Red Wings return home this week to play the Bisons for six, including a matinee tomorrow.
Harrisburg Senators, 25-24, 3rd E.L. Southwest, 9GB – 59-59 overall
The Senators lost three of five against the Flying Squirrels last week and fell a game and a half further back to effectively cement an also-ran season. Harrisburg is back home for the next two weeks, including six this week against Chesapeake with the complement of five night games and a day game on Sunday.
Wilmington Blue Rocks, 29-25, 4th Sally Lg. North, 3GB – 60-59 overall
The Blue Rocks took four of six from the Keys, which gained them a single game in the second-half standings. It’s the final road trip for Wilmington as they face off Jersey Shore, needing to take at least five games to have any chance of winning the second half (SSDW).
Fredericksburg Nationals, 24-29, 4th C.L. North, 8½ GB – 70-49 overall
Fredericksburg somehow managed to win two of six against Fayetteville and sunk another two games in the standings. Like the Blue Rocks, it’s the final road trip of the regular season for the FredNats as they head to Salisbury to beat up on the Shorebirds one last time in 2026.
