A run scored on a passed ball with two out in the 9th sent this one into extras, where the Red Wings exploded for four runs in the 10th to complete the six-game sweep of the Red Sox, 7-4. Jackson Tetreault got the start but was knocked from the box with two out in the 4th, giving up two unearned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out five. Reed Garrett picked up the win with two innings pitched: a 1-2-3 ninth and the free runner let in on a one-out single in the 10th. Andrew Young connected for a game-tying two-run HR in the 7th and added two singles and a walk while former Worcester backstop Chris Herrmann matched the line of 3-for-4 with a walk to pace the Rochester offense.

Harrisburg scored early and often, building a 7-0 lead after three as they cruised to a 12-1 win in the series finale. Ronald Herrera nearly matched his previous outing, tossing six innings of one-run ball on two hits and no walks while striking out a season-high of eight. Except for this time he was rewarded with the win. Alex Troop, Matt Cronin, and Matt Brill each put up a goose egg to close out the game. Drew Millas, Wilson Garcia, and Gilbert Lara combined to go 9-for-15 with five runs, six RBI, a double (Lara), and a stolen base (Millas) as the Senators racked up a season-best 17 hits on the afternoon.

Wilmington 3 Brooklyn 2 – COMP.

The Blue Rocks scored two in the 1st and one in the 9th and held off the Cyclones, 3-2 in the completion of Saturday’s suspended game. Wilmington starter Jake Irvin gave up a run on three hits and no walks over two innings. He struck out four. Tim Cate picked up the win and blew the save, having lost the 2-1 lead held by relievers Luis Avilán and Michael Kirian. Cate was lifted with one out in the 9th in favor of Zach Brzykcy, who gave up a hit but got the save on a strike-em-out-throw-em-out double play to end the game. Ricardo Méndez and Drew Mendoza both went 2-for-4 with an RBI while Pineda doubled in the game-winner in the 9th.

In the second game, the two teams each scored in the 6th for a 1-1 game that required two extra innings to resolve, with Wilmington scoring three times in the 9th for a 4-1 win to sweep the de facto doubleheader and take the series, 3-1. Seth Shuman tossed five scoreless to extend his streak to 11 innings and lower his ERA to 2.92. He allowed four hits, two walks, and hit a batter while fanning four. Tyler Yankosky suffered his fourth blown save in five outings while Amos Willingham blanked the Cyclones in the 8th and 9th innings to earn his second win. Like an ugly stripper, the Blue Rocks came away with just five singles but took advantage of four walks and two errors to score four times.
Thus far the only makeup date announced is a doubleheader on June 15. As previously noted, the Blue Rocks and Cyclones play each other three more series: June 14-19 and Aug. 9-14 in Wilmington, Aug. 30-Sept. 4 in Brooklyn.

The Cannon Ballers rallied for two runs in both the 8th and 9th innings to turn a 5-2 deficit into a 6-5 win over the FredNats. Fredericksburg starter Brendan Collins pitched into the 6th for the first time, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk while setting down six on strikes. The loss went to Tyler Schoff with back-to-back singles to open the 9th and a 55′ breaking ball that enabled the leadoff runner to score from first for the tying run and the trail runner moving up to third, where he scored on a sac fly. T.J. White had a single from each side of the plate while Viandel Peña got two from the RHB’s box to lead the FredNats nine-hit, four-walk offense.
