Armenteros pitched into the sixth, giving up nine hits (two HRs) and three walks as he lost for the fifth time. Gabe Klobosits two inherited runners with the “help” of Jake Noll’s 6th error while finishing the 6th. Bryan Bonnell mopped up in the 7th and 8th innings. Rochester collected ten hits, led by Brandon Snyder going deep twice (both solo shots) and Blake Swihart reaching base three times with a triple and two walks.
Harrisburg 7 Somerset 4
• Reyes (W, 5-4) 5IP, 5H, 4R, 4ER, BB, 6K, 2HR

• Lara 3-4, 2B, RBI, E
With two spots in the 1st, 4th, and 5th, and four scoreless innings from the ‘pen, Harrisburg took the opener from Somerset, 7-4. Luis Reyes became the first five-game winner in the Nats’ minors, laboring through five innings (88 pitches) and giving up all four Patriots runs on five hits (two HR) and a walk while striking out six. Jhon Romero (2IP) and Nick Wells (1IP) built a bridge to 9th, for their second and fourth holds, respectively. Frankie Bartow worked around a one-out single to notch his 8th save, which also lead the Nats minors.
Rome 6 Wilmington 2
• Adon (L, 3-2) 4IP, 7H, 6R, 5ER, 3BB, 6K
• Karp 3IP, 1H, 0R, 3BB, 4K, WP
• Pineda 2-4, R, 2B, RBI
• Pratt 1-3, BB
The R-Braves made hay in the 1st, scoring all six runs in the opening frame as they tripled up the Blue Rocks, 6-2. Joan Adon took the loss, going four innings and allowing all six runs on seven hits and three walks. He struck out six. Andrew Karp tossed three scoreless and Tanner Driskill added two goose eggs, but the Wilmington bats were limited to five hits and four walks. They kept the Rome infield cool with 15 whiffs and left on ten baserunners.
Salem 20 Fredericksburg 3

Fredericksburg blocked an extra point and the offense only managed a field goal as they were crushed by Salem, 20-3. Carlos Romero faced 15 batters and retired four of them as he suffered his first loss. The 21-y.o. was charged with eight runs on nine hits (two HRs) while issuing a walk and striking out one. The F-Nats trotted out five relievers but every single one either gave up a run or let in an inherited runner. Junior Martina doubled and homered while Jeremy De La Rosa singled and homered to pace the Fredericksburg offense.
FCL Nationals 5 FCL Astros 1 (6 inn.)
• Tetreault 2IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 0K

• Doolittle 2-3, R, 2-2B, 2RBI
• Infante 1-3, 2B, RBI
• Turbi 1-3, R, RBI
Rain shortened this one to six innings, but the FCL Nats had things well in hand for a 5-1 win over the FCL Astros. Jackson Tetreault made his season debut with two perfect innings. The win went to Todd Peterson with a walk issued over two scoreless innings while Pedro González lost the shutout but gained the save with a run on two hits over the last two innings. Mason “No Relation” Doolittle doubled twice and drove in two while Sammy Infante doubled once and drove in one to lead the FCL Nats offense.
Great to see Klobosits make it to AAA, and pitch a “scoreless” inning.
Tonight will be exciting with both Cavalli and Parker throwing.
Also, nice to see Tetreault back on the mound after a very long layoff.
It’s almost impossible to find any info about the FCL Nats. Did any of the new 2021 IFAs (like Armando Cruz or Gustavo Rivas) make the squad?
Here are my observations of Lara in his first game at AA. He is a smooth fielder (his error was on a wide throw to first). He has a long looping swing. One of his three hits was foul but the umpire called it fair. His other two were solid hits.
Thanks for the inside scoop. We panned Lara’s promotion yesterday but then he collected three hits. Go figure.
How did Aldrem Corredor look? He’s been heating up lately, and we don’t really have much depth at all at first base.
Lara was given a huge bonus by Milwaukee, $4-5 million, and has never hit at any level. Sometimes a team will trade someone like him just to erase the bad memory.
For the record, Jake Alu is listed as a 3rd baseman, occasionally playing 2nd.
Klobosits promotion was the most well-deserved and overdue of the year. Congratulations.
Rule 5 pick Geraldo has sunk to Florida Complex League .
Some guts are just “ complex “
The Cubs just promoted former Nats farmhand Taylor Gushue to the active MLB roster.
I just saw that. Apparently backup catcher for the Cubs is the most dangerous job in America as he’s their 4th (!!!) one.
Maybe he can catch lightning in a bottle, he never hit when with the Nats org.
Wait. Wasn’t Spinal Tap an American band?
Gushue couldn’t make his way up the Pirates chain.
Josh Rogers . Another lefty on a populated Red Wings roster ?
