AFL Update: Nov. 14, 2018
The Rafters keep losing—as they did for the fifth straight game yesterday, 4-2—but so doe everyone else except the Javelinas, who defeated the Solar Sox to reduce the magic number for one for Salt River to lose to play Peoria this Saturday.
Four Nationals saw game action in yesterday’s loss:
- Carter Kieboom started at 2B and batted seventh but reached base just one in four PA’s on a leadoff walk to start the 9th inning. Defensively, he had one putout and two assists.
- Jake Noll was the DH and went 1-for-2 with a double, walk, and a Robles, scoring on a triple after the HBP.
- Ben Braymer was the first man out of the ‘pen and retired two of four batters faced before he was replaced with two out in the 5th. The next man stranded his two baserunners to reduce his ERA to 6.00.
- Taylor Guilbeau was the last man to pitch for Salt River and gave up a double and a walk to let in one of this two inherited runners before getting three outs on two flyballs, thanks to a 9-2 DP.
Salt River hosts Glendale this afternoon for its final home game of the fall. Mesa visits Surprise while Scottsdale hosts Peoria. A Rafter win or losses by both the Solar Sox and the Scorpions will clinch the AFL East for Salt River.
