The Chiefs won back-to-back games for the second time in August as they fileted the Stripers, 8-1.

Harrisburg exploded for four runs in the bottom of the 7th and gave back two in the top of the 8th but held on to take the game 6-3, and the series, 2-1. Logan Darnell got the start and pitched into the 7th without a run of his scoring. He gave up five hits, walked two, and struck out four while hitting a batter. Ronald Pena got the win despite coughing up not one but two homers over an inning and 1/3rd. Jordan Mills got the game’s last four outs to earn his first AA save. Dan Gamache singled twice and homered once, followed by Alec Keller, who went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

The Dash completed the sweep of the P-Nats with a 6-3 win. Nick Raquet reverted to the mean with five runs allowed on 10 hits and two walks over five innings to lose his third High-A game. He struck out four while failing to go six innings for the ninth straight start. Nick Banks singled twice and doubled once and scored a run while Telmito Agustin singled and doubled to lead the Potomac offense, which was a woeful 1-for-9 with RISP and left 11 baserunners on.

Hagerstown got two runs early and stellar pitching as they held on for a 3-1 win to take a 2-1 series lead. Andrew Lee won his four game while going five-plus innings, with the lone Spikes run allowed on three hits and three walks while fanning five. Carlos Pena put up three goose eggs for the hold while Phil Morse closed out the 9th for the save. Nick Choruby was the only Suns batter to reach base twice, going 2-for-3 with a run scored while Alex Dunlap collected the only extra-base hit with a double in the 6th.

The Doubledays were tripled up 9-3 to complete the two-game sweep for the Spikes. Reid Schaller was knocked from the box with a four-run 3rd, giving up five runs on five hits and a walk while fanning three. Three Auburn relievers combined to allow four runs on 11 hits over six and a 1/3rd innings. just two Auburn hitters reach base twice: Adalberto Carrilo with two singles and Justin Connell with two walks.

The G-Marlins put Andrew Karp on the hook for the loss with three runs in the 1st as they ended the G-Nats’ modest four-game win streak with a 6-4 victory. Karp gave up three runs on three hits, including a two-run HR, and issued a walk in his single inning pitched. Rodney Theophile was the first man out of the ‘pen with two unearned runs on a hit and three walks over two innings. Anderson Franco led the G-Nats hit column with three singles in four trips to the plate and drove in two.
