Victor Robles returned to AAA for the first time in more than three months and re-established his trade value reached base four times (without getting hit by a pitch!) while going 3-for-4 with a double and a homer. Roster moves: OF Victor Robles activated from 7-Day DL.

Harrisburg vs. Bowie – PPD
The Senators are expected to resume play after a two-day layoff with a single game tonight and a doubleheader. The Nats’ AA affiliate is in third place, 2½ games behind second-place Altoona for the wild card and nine games behind the division leader, Akron.

Potomac blew a 6-1 lead but rallied for two in the 8th and held on in the 9th for an 8-6 win over Carolina. Wil Crowe failed to go six innings for the 10th time in 16 appearances, but pitched well enough to earn the “W” with two hits and two walks allowed over five and 2/3rds innings while striking out six. He left with a 6-1 lead with two out and the bases loaded. Carlos Acevedo wasted little time in getting Crowe a no-decision as he coughed up a double, then a homer to send five runs in and wear his second blown save. In the 8th, Telmito Agustin drew a leadoff walk, took second on a Jakson Reetz sacrifice, then scored the go-ahead run on Jack Sundberg’s second RBI single of the game. Sundberg then scored from second on a (very) wild pitch to give the P-Nats a two-run lead. Steven Fuentes, who bailed Acevedo out of two-on, one-out jam in the 7th, finished the game with two and 2/3rd inning scoreless relief and picked up the win.

A six-run lead was too small for the Suns ‘pen to hold as they gave up eight runs over three innings in a 10-8 loss to the BlueClaws. Andrew Lee went the first five and gave up two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven. Carlos Pena and losing pitcher Connor Zwetsch combined to give up eight runs on seven hits and two walks while Phil Morse let in all three runners he inherited to “earn” the blown save. Alex Dunlap went deep twice and Jake Scudder once as both drove in three to lead the Hagerstown offense.

A six-run 6th was basically the difference as Auburn defeated Connecticut, 11-5 in the series opener. Aaron Fletcher hit his pitch limit a bit early, but struck out five over two and 2/3rds innings. Angel Guillen gave up all five runs on six hits and a walk while hitting two batters but got the win as the pitcher of record. Cody Wilson and Pablo O’Connor both went 2-for-4 with a walk while Nic Perkins drove in three to lead the Doubledays’ 11-hit, nine-walk offense.

GCL Nationals 13 GCL Astros 7

An early 4-0 lead went up in smoke but the G-Nats managed not to lose again as they roared back from a 7-4 deficit with nine unanswered runs in the middle innings for 13-7 win over the G-Astros. Starter Niomar Gomez was dinged for all seven runs on seven hits and four walks over three and 2/3rds innings. Fray Perez came on with the bases loaded and two outs but wasn’t over his head as he stranded all three in getting the last out of the fourth, then threw three scoreless and hitless innings to get the win. Trey Vickers led the G-Nats hit parade with three singles while Landerson Pena reached base four times with two singles and two walk; both drove in two to lead the G-Nats attack. Roster moves: IF Anderson Franco assigned from Hagerstown for MiLB rehab.
