So, is tonight Matt Purke Fireworks Night in Richmond?

    /gallows humor

Way to keep up on the current Nationals Luke, Jerry Hairston has retired and I believe the correct player activated is Scott Hairston.

I appreciate the correction, Got42, but not nearly as much as your flaccid punctuation demonstrating Skitt’s Law.

Luke. That Dickson Spann effort could be called
A McCatty move. Actually McCatty wishes he could
Have a rubber armed guy go four like in a LaRussa
    Duncan Oakland days.

Kilgore actually kiddingly/half seriously broached the idea of activating Livo last night on twitter.

  4. Jeff says:

John C. Amen. Purke is a good guy but we
Expect much more from a bonus beau.
Doesn’t help with the usual DL list in spring.

Povedo in AAA might actually be worse! He and Roenicke are last minute fill-ins due to injuries.

  5. peric says:

They seem to have an awful lot of faith in Purke. Word is they are going to keep trotting him out there for Harrisburg while the pitching coaches work at getting him back to the point where he can repeat his delivery.

Might consider changing Souza to Steven “carry on” Jr. given McLouth’s injury. It sure seems like he is going to be up-and-down especially given the way he is hitting.

    1. Luke Erickson says:
      May 6, 2014 at 2:09 pm

I’ll have to come up w/ something original for Mr. Souza, because I think you’re right – I think he’s going to be up & back an awful lot.

  6. Souldrummer says:

Folks it could be comedy night on this board. I am contemplating driving up to Harrisburg to watch Matt purke hurl a spheroid in the general vicinity of home plate.

Sadly, I will not be attending this game due to business obligations. Not so sadly if I’m injected with truth serum. I’m on the Eastern side of the Beltway so I’m contemplating a jaunt out to Del Marva.
