Rochester Loses AAA National Championship

For seven innings, yesterday’s sarcastic prediction of a low-scoring game held true. Oklahoma City got two in the 8th to tie and three in the 10th to go up 5-2. The Rochester offense, which had bailed out the relievers time and time again in 2026, could only get back one for a 5-3 loss.

The bullpen heroes of ILCS Game 3 were the goats in the AAA Title Game. Eddie Yean couldn’t make it three straight clean outings, which were way too few over the last six weeks, and coughed up the tying runs in the 8th on a walk, a wild pitch, a single, and a double. In the 10th, Clayton Beeter put all three batters he faced on base with two walks and a three-run double. Matt Krook got the three outs that Beeter couldn’t but it was too late.

The Red Wings answered with one in the last half of the 10th. Cayden Wallace reached on an infield single to set first-and-third with nobody out. Riley Adams then rolled into a 4-6-3 DP for the final Rochester run. Leandro Pineda, who had gotten two singles and RBI double in his first four trips to the plate, was caught looking to end the game.

And that’s a wrap on the 2026 regular season. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll have to go figure out what I’ll be having for lunch 😉
