The Red Wings scored in each of its first three “ups” while the bullpen combined to shut down the Mud Hens over the last five frames in a 6-2 win that kept pace with the Redbirds in the I.L. first-half race. Andry Lara gave up both Toledo runs on four hits and three walks over four innings. Jack Sinclair led a parade of relievers who each put up a goose egg to get the win, his fourth. Seaver King was a triple shy of the cycle as scored twice and drove in three while Andrew Pinckney homered to power the Rochester offense.

Erie scored in each of the first three innings to build a 4-0 lead en route to handing Harrisburg a 7-3 loss. Alex Clemmey didn’t make it out of the 5th as he gave up six runs on seven hits (one HR) and four walks over four and a 1/3rd innings. He struck out four in his fifth loss. Sam Brown and Leandro Pineda both went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI as the Senators were held to six hits and a walk (Devin Fitz-Gerald, who’s in danger of falling off the interstate and onto the frontage road with a .100 BA and a .338 OPS).

The Blue Rocks blew a 3-0 lead in the 1st quarter but got a touchdown and an extra point in the 3rd quart…er, 6th inning to win the opening game of the 2nd half, 10-4. Xander Meckley gave up all four Cyclones runs on four hits and five walks and had a huge assist from Adam Boucher, who cleaned up his mess by stranding three runners while getting out of the 4th. Pablo Aldonis was the pitcher of record when Wilmington sent 11 men up to bat and had seven of ’em score. Five Blue Rocks batters had multiple hits, led by Elijah Green with a walk and two doubles while Randal Diaz stole three bases and Jack Moroknek hit his first High-A homer.

Fredericksburg was unable to make Salem pay for issuing 13 walks as they left 16 runners on base in a 7-6 loss. Carson Fischer struck out a career-best eight batters over four innings but gave up three runs on three hits and a walk, which was enough to lose for the first time this season. Luke Dickerson hit his 16th double, walked three times, and committed his 12th error. Dashyll Tejeda was the sole FredNats batter to collect multiple hits, singling twice in three at-bats coming off the bench. Roster moves: 1B Juan Cruz activated from the 7-Day I.L.; C Nick Hollifield placed on the 7-Day I.L.; C Nate Rombach reassigned from Wilmington.

The F-Nats put up a four-run 2nd that erased an early 2-1 deficit and outslugged the F-Cards, 7-5. Brock Gillis went the first three and was pecked for four runs on six hits and three walks and three strikeouts. Juan Lopez gave up the fifth and final run on homer and three hits total but got the win. L.J. Waco cordero’d around a walk and a single for the save, his third. Nauris De La Cruz singled twice and homered while Eyeksson Rojas reached base three times, scored twice, and drove in a run to power the FCL Nationals offense.

The DSL Nationals barely avoided being shut out in a 6-1 loss to the DSL Giants Black. Franniel Reynoso retired just six of 12 batters faced, charged with two runs (one earned) on two hits, three walks, and a hit batsman. Esnaider Vargas tripled and scored two batters later on a double play. Rayniel Lache also tripled while Juan Duran and Jawal Garcia singled to comprise the D-Nats four-hit barrage.
