Landon Harmon gave up two runs (one earned) on one hit and three walks over two and 1/3rds in his pro debut. Isaac Lyon and Jared Beck both let in on run over three innings to get the win and save, respectively. Ronny Cruz was a double shy of the cycle as he drove in four while Luke Dickerson singled twice, struck out twice, and stole two bases to lead the FredNats attack.
Sens Kevin Made suffered a serious leg/ankle injury on a slide at home plate. I won’t go into the details, but an air cast was put on and he left the field in a wheelchair.
Well Todd you beat me to the punch even if we are in a new era with the Young Turks plan and agenda
Maybe Elijah needs an alter like the Cuban slugger on CLE Indians in Major League 1
Or heed what Doc Ellis did for pirates the day he tossed his no hitter
Sports owners over decades are guilty of much worse ..
In terms of player development
And winning games
Nats will take a W with 3 hits
13 Walks and 12 Ks
Did the coaches son drawing 3 walks as the table setter
That’s serious ‘ all the best , Msde mate
Wow we beat Hudson Valley for once ( granted a different Yanx squad this year )
How was Harmon humming last night in the 50 F weathers?
Two notable items from Wilmington’s game:
1. Vaquero got pulled after one AB and was replaced by Nunez … wondering if its injury related.
2. Green’s line: 5ab, 5Ks, 1BB. FIVE STRIKEOUTS in a game.
Vaquero got kicked in the back of the head on a pickoff attempt. went out in the field the field the next inning but was pulled after catching a flyball. likely a concussion type injury
Fredmd
In hockey they use that phrase
Concussion protocol
Todd that XST list might be the longest in an April I’ve seen in Luke’s years doing this
There can’t be very many worse top 5 overall picks than Green.
I know 4 K’s is the “Golden Sombrero”. Is 5 the Diamond Sombrero?
Platinum. Six is a “Sam Horn.”
How is Ethan Petry’s defense at 1B? His reputation for defense is not so great, but has anyone here seen him?
VERY early days, but I’m very impressed with Angel Feliz so far. It was an aggressive promotion to send him to Wilmington and he’s looked fantastic so far. I think many prospectors are sleeping on him, especially in comparison to some others in A ball in our org.
