Lehigh Valley 7 Rochester 2
• Perales (L, 0-2) 3IP, 2H, 2R, 0ER, 1BB, 3K, WP
• Tolman 1IP, 0H, 0R, 1BB, 1K
• Hassell 2-4, R
• Pinckney 1-2, 2BB

Lehigh Valley got two runs in the 2nd and four in the 6th en route to a 7-2 win over Rochester. Luis Perales pitched three full innings for the first time this season, but gave up two unearned runs on two hits and a walk, which was enough to wear the “L.” Robert Hassell singled twice while Andrew Pinckney reached base three times on two walks and a single to lead the Red Wings seven-hit, four-walk offense.

Akron 8 Harrisburg 6
• D. Garcia (L, 0-1) 3⅓ IP, 2H, 4R, 1ER, 5BB, 2K, BK, HBP, WP
• Powell 2⅔ IP, 3H, 4R, 4ER, 3BB, 1K, HR, 1-1 IR-S
• Boissiere 3-4, 2R, BB, HR, 2RBI
• Brown 2-5, R, HR, 3RBI
• King 1-3, 2R, 2BB

The Senators loaded the bases in the 9th and got the tying runs in scoring position, but the ‘Ducks handed them their first loss this year, 8-6. Davian Garcia was knocked from the box with one out in the 4th, charged with four runs (one earned) on two hits and five walks. He struck out two and hit a batter. Branden Boissiere and Sam both went deep, combining for five hits and five RBI, to power the Harrisburg offense.

Wilmington 3 Hudson Valley 1
• Maddox 4IP, 2H, 1R, 1ER, 3BB, 4K
• Huizi (W, 1-0) 2IP, 0H, 0R, 2BB, 1K
• Cranz (SV, 1) 1⅓ IP, 0H, 0R, 2BB, 1K, 2-0 IR-S
• Fitz-Gerald 2-4, SB(5)
• Green 1-3, R, HR, 2RBI, 1K, 2SB, HBP

Wilmington put up just one crooked number—a three-spot in the 2nd—but the Blue Rocks pitchers made it stand up for a 3-1 win over Hudson Valley. Riley Maddox went the first four innings, giving up the Renegades run on two hits and three walks while striking out four. Eiker Huizi put up two goose eggs to earn the win, Pablo Aldonis got the next five outs for the hold, and Robert Cranz cordero’d around a bases-loaded jam in the 9th to pick up the save. Devin Fitz-Gerald led the Blue Rocks hit column with two singles and stole his 5th base while Elijah Green didn’t strike out twice, as he drove in the first two Wilmington runs on his first homer of 2026. Roster moves: UT Jorgleys Mota placed on the 7-Day I.L.; OF Teo Banks activated from the Development List.

Hill City 5 Fredericksburg 3
• Hughes 1⅔ IP, 0H, 0R, 4BB, 4K
• Minckler 2⅓ IP, 2H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 4K
• Cabrera 2-4, R, HR, 3RBI, SB
• R. Cruz 1-3, 2B, BB

Yeremy Cabrera homered to knot things up at 3-3 in the top of the 8th, but Hill City knocked the FredNats down for two in the bottom of the 8th for a 5-3 win that evened the series at 2-2. Nolan “Nuke” Hughes walked four, struck four, and got one flyball in his one turn through the Howlers lineup. The loss went to Ryan Minckler, who walked a batter and gave up back-to-back singles with two out in the 8th. The Cabrera two-run HR masked an otherwise dismal outing by the Fredericksburg offense: four hits (one in seven RISP chances), five walks, and 11 whiffs.

I know Garcia has been getting some prospect buzz but 5BB, a hit batter, wild pitch and a balk thrown in for good measure has me wondering why. Powell then followed with his usual performance.

at least the batters made it interesting.

Garcia also threw a ton of pitches in just those 3.1 innings.

in his last start, Sime pitched to the lineup exactly one time through.

he faced 6 RH batters and fanned five of them. against the 3 LH batters he gave up a double, a walk and had 1K.

assuming the Howlers start the same lineup as last night the first eight hitters will bat LH.

let’s see how this works out!

Fred MD and the bleacher bums in baseball cyber land
This spring in this rebuild is like just watching extended B games on the back lots
So many players just working their routines
    Auditioning game after game
Taking all the play in game action with a grain of salt
Move the Morton’s salt over ….
