Tuesday’s News & Notes
| Team | Yesterday | Today | Pitching Probables |
| Rochester | OFF DAY | @ Worcester, 6:05pm | Eder (MLB Rehab) vs. Drohan (4-1, 2.08) |
Rochester Red Wings, 30-39, 8th I.L. East, 15GB – 57-84 Overall
Rochester closes out the season with a series against Worcester in battle for seventh place in the second half. Beyond Josiah Gray perhaps making another appearance to “work on some things,” it’s unclear if there will be any more Senators given the bump for a few more ABs or IPs. As you might expect, there are a handful of statistical milestones that could be achieved – 30 doubles for Trey Lipscomb, 40 steals for Nasim Nuñez, 30 steals for Darren Baker – but otherwise, this a team playing out the string Forrest Gump pause again.
RIP Roy Hobbs.
Susana had lat surgery last week according to MLB Trade Rumors.
Oof. That’s more than a minor strain!
What’s the recovery timeline like for lat surgery? Fortunately, this came so late in the season that hopefully this means all his recovering will be in the offseason.
It can be a long time if surgery is needed. Former Braves now Mets reliever AJ Minter had lat surgery in May 2025, and it ended his season. Depending on the nature of the injury, wouldn’t be shocked if Susana isn’t available to pitch when Spring training starts.
That would still have him returning sooner than Sykora. Sigh.
Keep the bubble wrap on Clemmey!
Angels just called up Carter Keiboom. Will be his MLB appearance since his last game for the Nats in 2023.
