Rochester Red Wings, 21-30, 9th I.L. East, 15GB – 48-75 Overall
The Red Wings reverted to the mean with five losses out of six last week, sinking back into a more-familiar 9th place and back behind Buffalo for the worst overall record. This week, Rochester visits Darwin’s waiting room Jacksonville for six night games.
Harrisburg Senators, 28-23, 2nd E.L. Southwest, 1GB – 62-58 Overall
Harrisburg took the series from Erie, 4-3 and picked up a half game on Altoona. The two teams battle this week for 1st place in the E.L. Southwest for the second half.
Wilmington Blue Rocks, 21-33, 6th Sally Lg. North, 16GB – 51-68 Overall
The Blue Rocks sank back into last place by losing five of six to the Dash. This week, it’s six night games against first-place Greensboro with O/U of 1 win and 12 runs (I’m feeling generous this a.m.)
Fredericksburg Nationals, 28-22, 1st C.L. North, ½ GA – 58-57 Overall
Fredericksburg took four of seven from Fayetteville and snuck into first place, a half game ahead of Carolina. This week, it’s seven against the fifth-place Hillcats, including a doubleheader tomorrow.

Altoona always throws Burg a curve
YoYo back in his home state may have a strong series facing southpaw starters tonight and Thursday. by most measures his season has been a success, I know one of us concurs!
My memory (which is faulty) leads me to think that it’s been a long time since AA Harrisburg has been a playoff team. Is that right? Some consider AA to be the prime league for future MLB players. Nice that the Nats have a competitive AA team.
2019 was the last time Harrisburg was in the playoffs. We lost to Bowie in the first round. Huge games this week with first place Altoona!
Looks like Caleb Lomavita will be inserted into Harrisburg’s playoff push. Read on Talknats that he’s getting promoted. Hope he shows more pop and better defense now that he’s freed from Wilmington.
