Me and “ Tito Fuentes “ wonder if Nats would welcome back Fedde for a one month stand up routine ?
It’s pretty crazy the defensive season Lomavita is having. He’s now up to 21 errors!! I’d assume most of these are on errant CS attempts, like was the case yesterday. And yet, Lomavita caught the other runner attempting to steal yesterday. He’s now 42 for 168 in catching runners (25%), which is actually a good margin above league average (20.6%). With that said, that’s a hell of a lot of stolen base attempts against Lomavita! 168 attempts in 73 games (2.3/g) is a lot! All the other catchers to appear for Wilmington have had quite a bit fewer than 2 attempts per game. So the scouting report out there is to run against Lomavita, which according to wildness of his throws, it certainly accurate. But despite the crazy high error rate, he’s actually doing a good job at stopping base stealing. What a strange season…
Should the Nats be looking for another position for Lomavita?
I was in Erie for the game, what a first inning
