I really like the hype that Hassell has generated. It seems he’s revived what little prospect value he had remaining. However, as predicted, he really trailed off again. In 15 games in March, he’s hitting .300/.344/.367. That’s still good, but a long way off from the power he flashed in his first couple games in ST.
Meanwhile, Alex Call is doing a better impression of Hassell than Hassell himself, hitting .393/.561/.536 this spring, and seems competent to back up Young, if his struggles continue into the regular season.
I still think Hassell’s future with the team is as trade bait. If we can find another team willing to dream on Hassell’s fading potential and flip him for some help at one of our other holes (3B/SS, DH, C, RP), it’d be a better allocation of our resources. But until then, I hope Hassell’s renaissance continues!
Francesco Barbeieri apparently has had an impressionable spring with an invite to an A game bench seat ?
Gabriel Agostini has spent more time on DL than most Hollyweird types spent in rehab ..
I could see Lord making the cut while JR and Ribalta marinate in cold Rochester bullpen
Are we sure Soroka is starting pitcher not a reliever at this stage ?
No. But Rizzo certainly is.
Mackenzie , Jared
Deja Vue Dela Cruz Carlos AA material 4-1-25 .
We will be calling Soroka a bum in April from the cheap seats ..
I left a short list of 2025 predictions with the AA pilot who was heading down to PBi to fly the team north :

Yeah, Yankosky hasn’t pitched since July…. 2023. Not encouraging that he’ll miss an additional 2 months. Hope for the best for him.
