Harrisburg tied Binghamton in hits at six. Alas, it’s the run column that matters most as the Senators were shut out for the 14th time this season, 3-0. DJ Herz pitched into the 5th, allowing no runs on two hits and four walks over four and a 1/3rd. He struck out eight. Alex Troop got out of the 5th but was dinged for his 16th HR in the 6th, a three-run shot that decided the game. J.T. Arruda was the sole Harrisburg batter to reach base twice (two singles) while Jackson Cluff connected for the Sens’ only extra-base hit, a double in the 9th.

The Nats’ Low-A affiliate nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory before walking off for the ninth time Last Night in Fredericksburg.
Roster moves: IF Jorgelys Mota placed on the 7-Day I.L.; RHP Jefrem Leon reassigned from the FCL.
Luke Young facing the minimum number of batters over his final six innings is pretty impressive. while not getting a lot of buzz he has struck out 50 in his last 36 innings.
After bottoming out at .179 on August 11, Lile has raised his average 55 points in three weeks. He looks like he’ll be ready for AA next season at age 21. So should Pinckney and Morales. The pecking order is rapidly evolving. And one would think that de la Rosa’s days on the 40-man are numbered. Right now the risk of losing him while passing him through a DFA would be very low.
Herz seems bound for the 40-man this fall after another solid start.
Another 0-fer night for Green with 3 Ks. Sigh. I really am pulling for the kid to turn it around, but it isn’t going to happen this year.
Every end of the campaign it’s interesting to see the Innings logged by certain starters . Troop has been mentioned along with JR but here we see org arm A Rodriguez with 110 IP 8-8 slate and an ErA slightly over 4.00.
A farm system needs a few guys to log 100 plus IP
