Ugh… another one bites the dust. We already lost Glavine for 3 months last season to injury, and now it appears he’s done some serious damage to his arm after one game this season. Hope he recovers quickly, because he’s been very good in his extremely limited playing time in his career (32 IP in 3 years…)
I will try not to beat a dead horse, but Green just struck out 3 more times in 3 AB (albeit with 2 BB). JDLR also continues to display worrying indiscipline, striking out 4 times in all 4 ABs, and now sports a 50% K%…
On the brightside, Johnathon Thomas just recording his first professional XBH with a game winning 3 run HR. Don’t think we’ll see too many more of those from Thomas, but hopefully he’ll surprise me. He’s had a really good start to the season.
Johnathon Thomas actually had nine homers in college last season, so he may be a mightier mite than he might first appear. (I do wonder whether some were inside the park.) He also had 16 doubles and 5 triples, so the XBH should come.
Good to see a strong bounce back from Troop, who was scoreless through four before getting dented. There is plenty of opportunity for pitchers for those who can be even marginally effective.
Good to see Alu back presumably healthy and doing Alu things. Just got to keep Jeimer playing well enough to get traded . . .
Just clicked on Troop’s MILB page, and there’s an article in which he’s referenced at the bottom of the page titled “Suns Defeat Braves Behind Soto’s Big Day”.
There’s just too much to unpack here: Troop was 5 years ago playing on a team that no longer exists with Juan Soto, and we’re still talking about him as a potential break out candidate.
Where is Eric Tolman ?

Maybe find lightning in a bottle with some cast offs from other orgs .
we can only hope that whatever injury shelved Aldonis last year is a thing of the past because he is the real deal. three plus pitches with good command of each. I know Hassell is pissed he didn’t catch that double, albeit hit pretty deep to right- center.
from what little I’ve seen of Thomas I am intrigued but at 23 in single A he needs to keep impressing and progressing.
Anybody have a review on how Troop looked on the mound from the seats there ?
Bummer about Glavine when Knowles just came back from the shelf .
Pedro Gonzalez made it to Fred . Yeah he must be saying
he went through the first three innings without breaking a sweat (all that I watched). didn’t seem to be exerting as much effort as last outing, maybe focusing a little more on command. never hit 90 on on H’burg’s radar gun.
He looked good. He just ran into a little trouble in the 5th, but got out of it
I know it’s only 52 AB’s but my word Darren Baker has a .881 OPS. He has never been a hot prospect but keeps impressing.
