Good, Bad, Interesting… 2022 Final

October 1, 2022

Our final look at the leaders, trailers, and outliers in the Washington Nationals minor leagues. Repeats from 2021 are in italics

PLEASE NOTE: This format discriminates against multi-level players who were good, guys who were injured, and guys who were traded away. I try to factor in age relative to the level so before you “What about______?” look up his age and how many seasons he’s played the level. Finally, it’s also worth noting that one year’s “good” can be next year’s “bad” and vice-versa.

Jake Alu and Isreal Pineda would be the only possible good bats for Harrisburg.

I’ve been trying to find out the injury to Tyler Yankoski to no avail. His last appearance was June 17. His precise stats were amazing.

Did the entire farm system churn through more players added at the upper levels than last year ?
We know there are certain Virgos in the audience who can tabulate that .
The blue chippers must already be in Arizona for the AFL.
I’ll be in PHX Tuesday .
Doubt they stay in Tempe where I’ll be .

good pull on Antuna’s walk rate in A+, he continued to maintain an excellent rate in AA as well. I’m not sure what to make of that in relation to his prospect status but it’s something positive in an otherwise disappointing performance

Fred MD as long as Antuna is a supporting cast member on Sens with Hassel and the eventual wave from FRED via Will short stint .
Some bullpen arms really stepped up as others were on the IR or DL.
Sure would be good to light a few candles for Strohs to reach Senator status .

Kilome seemed like a pitcher who could have used some “ junk “ taught to him by a guy like Oil Can Boyd
Franklyn lived by the heater .
No Crash Davis to teach him lessons ??

Jose Sanchez came to the plate 27 times in the month of September, he did not get a single hit and walked just one time. yet he struck out only once, a .000 BABIP!

I was thrilled to see his early season surge and disappointed with the late season plunge. for the year however, he hit .304 with 2 outs and RISP. I’m sure he’s headed for AA, much like Connell last year it may be make or break time.

Emiliani with a good spring makes Sens as depth LF/ 1b/ DH!?

Congrats to Alou2Alu for picking the right postername (or handle or whatever it’s called) for this year.
