Team Yesterday Today Pitching Probables
Rochester OFF DAY @ Syracuse, 6:35 p.m. Sharp (3-1, 3.51) vs. Stock (0-3, 4.13)
Harrisburg OFF DAY vs. Akron, 6:30 p.m. M. Sanchez (2-5, 3.56) vs. Allen (AA debut)
Wilmington OFF DAY vs. Hudson Valley, 7:05 p.m. E. Lee (0-2, 5.67) vs. Anderson (1-1, 3.90)
Fredericksburg OFF DAY @ Lynchburg, 6:30 p.m. Seijas (2-7, 6.43) vs. Espino (1-2, 3.38)
FCL Nationals OFF DAY @ FCL Marlins, 12 p.m.
DSL Nationals Won, 7-2 vs. DSL Cardinals Blue, 10:30 a.m.

Rochester Red Wings (25-33, 5th, 12½ GB, Northeast Div. AAA East)
Rochester remains a ½ game out of fourth place after a 3-2 week and rematches against Syracuse this week. The Red Wings have improved their run differential to just -13 runs, which is still bad, but the best in the full-season minors.

Harrisburg Senators (22-37, 6th, 12½ GB, Southwest Div. AA Northeast)
The Senators return to City Isle for their last homestand of July. They’ll host the division-leading RubberDucks this week before heading up to Portland, Maine for six next week.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (26-33, 3rd, 13GB, North Division, High-A East)
Despite nearly breaking even in Lakewood (3-4), Wilmington dropped another three games back in the (*ugh*) High-A North Division. This week, they’re home for six against first-place Hudson Valley.

Fredericksburg Nationals (19-41, 4th, 19GB, North Division, Low-A East)
The F-Nats broke even against the Cannon Ballers to conclude a two-week homestand. Alas, they’ll be on the road for the next two weeks in Southwest Virginia, beginning with six against third-place Lynchburg.

FCL Nationals – OFF DAY
The FCL Nats start their week of road games with a trip to Jupiter to face the FCL Marlins, then make up last week’s rainout in Port St. Lucie tomorrow, then it’s back to Roger Dean Stadium to face the FCL Cardinals on Thursday, then they’ll finish with a “visit” to West Palm Beach on Friday.

DSL Nationals 7 DSL Cardinals Blue 2
• Moron 4IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, BB, 4K, 2HBP
• Agostini (W, 1-0) 2IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• A. Luis 2-2, R, BB, 2SB, 2E
• W. Diaz 2-3, R, 2RBI, CS

For the time being, the M.O. will be to just do the boxscores for the DSL, which, as longtime readers know, is sometimes necessary when time is short on certain mornings (e.g. this Thursday).

Am I the only one stunned that the Nats F.O. looked at their system and decided they needed more hitters? So far 7 out of 10 hitters picked. Happy, but stunned.

Luke five field goals surrendered by ROCH proves how dry the farm system is .
This draft just concluded may prove to be a real stocker especially with some college kids who might hop a few levels fast hopefully

Bear with me Luke but Erik Tolman drafted by Nats is a great story since his late father Tim lead a storied baseball career
Tim played with Lonnie Smith on a California Amateur club then was on a storied USC club featuring Dave Hostetler who I thought about today as a big dude and slugger as we see in recently drafted Texas Aggie 1b who Kevin Kline saw hit a moon shot in Round Rock which might have compared to some of those Hostetler hit as a Denver Bear playing for Felipe Alou in AAA for the Expos affiliate .

Erik Tollman is not Tim Tollman’s son. I suppose they may be related, but I’ve found no evidence of it.

What a rather unfortunate surname Raynel, the DSL Nats’ SP has.

I went to HS with a Todd Penas — yeah, he had an extra n added. But I’m not sure how to fix Raynel’s surname…
