Rochester rallied from deficits of 4-1 and 8-5 and even got the winning run on base in the bottom of the 9th, but fell for the 14th time in 17 games, 9-8. Tyler Eppler got the start and was hit hard early, giving up his four runs in the first three innings, but made it into 5th before Matt LeCroy hooked ’em. Eppler finished with four runs allowed on seven hits (one HR) and four walks while striking out four. The loss went to Dakota Bacus, who gave up the ninth RailRiders run in the 9th on two hits sandwiched around a walk. Daniel Palka led the Red Wings’ 13-hit parade with a single, double, and homer, followed by Adrián Sanchez, who singled twice and walked twice. The two combined for four runs and five RBI

The bullpen faltered and gave up five runs in the final two “ups.” But it was the Curve’s relievers, not the Sens’, as Harrisburg doubled up Altoona, 6-3. Mario Sanchez went six innings for a second straight start, allowing all three Curve runs while putting 10 baserunners with seven hits, a walk, and two Victor Robles. The win went to Alberto Baldonado with goose eggs in the 7th and 8th while Frankie “Goes to Hollywood” Bartow worked around a single in the 9th for his fourth save. Backup backstop Alex Dunlap singled, doubled, and drove a run, and scored twice while Cole Freeman drove in three while going 2-for-5 to lead the Senators’ offense.

Wilmington tied it in the top of the 8th but gave it right back in the bottom of the 8th as they went below .500 (8-9) with a 5-4 loss to Aberdeen. Joan Adon pitched into the 6th for the second time in four starts. He allowed the first four IronBirds runs on seven hits and two walks while fanning six. Malvin Peña made the drive up I-95 to fortify the Blue Rocks pitching staff, which is down one officially (Todd Peterson) and another unofficially (Jackson Rutledge) but took the loss as he let in the game-winning run on four hits and an intentional walk. Justin Connell drove in two with a triple and a homer while Gage Canning singled twice to push his BA to a team-leading .306 Roster moves: RHP Malvin Peña reassigned from Fredericksburg.
