Plugging Away at the Watchlist
About the only thing this post has in common with its five predecessors (take a peek at the URL string) is that it’s primary purpose is to show that we’re still here, the lights are still on, etc.
With any luck, the past will be prologue and we’ll get a transaction post soon. Then again, we’re barely ahead of the pace of a year ago (a.k.a. Month 5 of the current 17-month offseason) with just three such posts since the end of the World Series.
As the headline suggests, I’ve begun rewriting the player capsules and have gotten through the first three categories. It’s not difficult per se but it does feel perfunctory. For most of the entries, there’s almost nothing new; For those that are new, there’s the caveat that what’s new is what’s been told, not seen.
Until next time…
Keep up the good work, Luke. Trying to turn lemons in to lemonade.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Baseball America is reporting that the MLB plans to start their season on-time, but at least Double-A and Single-A level will be delayed. The reason for this is to reduce the number of players in Spring Training at one team to reduce the chance of COVID spread. It appears that AAA may start on time or close to on-time.
With the delayed start, the minor league seasons may run beyond the traditional Labor Day end to the minor league regular season.
