Happy Thanksgiving
No trip to the Crystal Coast this year for Turkey Day, which is making me feel like Boomer.
But overall, and in the big picture, things are doing okay. It’ll be five years at my current job next month. Twenty-six years since I met my wife in January. My oldest son just turned 20, my youngest son will graduate, then turn 18 in June.
Things will be different here in our little corner of the Natmosphere next year. Some folks asked me point-blank if I might hang it up when the P-Nats leave, but this has become too much a part of my morning routine to give up. The only thing I might miss more is running, which I’ve been doing three times longer and is key to how I watch my figure (because if I don’t, no one else will).
So I’m thankful to have this outlet for creativity and this community of baseball fans to serve. And with that I’ll dispense with the annual instructions:
- Stay safe
- Show some plate discipline
- Call your mother
I’m thankful, Luke, that I have your site every morning to visit and indulge my seamheadedness (is that a word?).
Same to everyone who interacts with me on this site, you make it a lot better.
I don’t eat turkey but I think the key for tomorrow is to just eat too much.
Spike lives!
Seconded Mark’s sentiments! Thanks for the daily updates, and giving us a platform to argue about the merits of Dominican teenagers! (Sounds a bit weird when I phrase it that way…)
Yes, the place where I got panned for being the only person to rank Soto over Robles one year. I stand by my choice of Dominican teenager!
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and added thanks to Luke for his faithfulness to site. Maybe he’ll put his P-Nat season ticket money toward an EZPass so he can get to Fredericksburg every now and then!
Luke you have says those three things dating back five years. Can’t do number three anymore
Matt ——- 3 b late Giants and Rays could be F troop fodder ??
Would Rizzo re – squire Pedro Avila for a taco truck and a case of baseballs ???
Neither can I; my Mom passed in 2012 at the age of 88. I always think about her on Thanksgiving because she made it a true event — turkey, stuffing, several different vegetables/casseroles, pies, breads, and dozens and dozens of cookies. Almost all of it was homemade; she “cheated” with some of the vegetables (frozen), but everything else was all her. And, for the record, “stay safe” and “call your mother” have been in all nine posts since 2011. “Show some plate discipline” first appeared in 2012.
Maybe Don Rickles might say : what shall we call our mothers ??
Give thanks today that all Nats fans can now follow baseball for the pure joy of the game with the WS monkey off everyone’s backs
I repeat there are some interesting innings eaters on FREDNats roster. Ryan Tapani pitch like an All Star in 2020.
Like the George logo swinging the cherry tree axe.
Luke that’s a great mother memorial
Quite the drive from up north. Fred- Burg
