Good to see De La Rosa hit his second dinger. He hasn’t taken the GCL by storm like Robles and Soto did, but this at least proves the potential is there for him to play next to those guys in DC someday.
Speaking of Soto, that kid is everything Harper simply refuses to be (team player, studious approach, great clubhouse guy). If he stays healthy, he could well be a perennial 40-120-1.000 OPS guy. Meanwhile, the $330 million brat continues to mope and whine and drag his team down with him). Have fun, Philthy phans, he’s your headache now.
Karl, I couldn’t agree with you more.
I remember when they asked Brian Cashman why the Yankees didn’t go after Harper and he said it’s bad for the clubhouse when you give a huge contract to someone who only hustlers some of the time.
Now, we get to watch his replacements work their way up the system, like De La Rosa.
Yes Fighting Fffffphils fans once booed Michael Schmidt and tossed batteries @ JD Drew…
What a season … the brass has looked / kicked tires on everyone from Cope, Hoover (dam!) , Blazek.. Kontos, Sipp, Buchanan , etc etc (cue voice of Yul Brynner)… including several old President names who could join in the 7 th IP Prez race .. and now we came to Elias , Strickland and Hudson… go figure…
These nickname one tone jerseys being worn in Wrigley reminds me of the Indian Bloody Mary knits Boog Powell nicknamed during his time along Lake Erie with some colorful mates such as Rico Carty , Rick Sutcliffe, Bert Blyleven , Charlie Spikes .. Rick Waits…
