Harrisburg rallied for five in the bottom of the 8th to take the game 7-6 and assure no less than a split of the four-game series with Hartford. Jaron Long went the first five innings but was chewed on for four runs on nine hits and a walk. After Bryan Harper dug them two runs deeper while walking four of seven batters faced, Jordan Mills escaped a bases-loaded jam in the 6th and pitched a scoreless 7th. Derek Self got the benefit of the rally with a 1-2-3 eighth for his third win while Roman Mendez sent ’em packing with a clean 9th for his seventh save. Jake Lowery’s pinch-hit, two-out, two-run single capped the comeback for the 13th hit of the game and the sixth of the inning. Roster moves: LHP Jordan Mills, RHP James Bourque promoted from Potomac; LHP Ismael Guillon, RHP Kaleb Fleck released.
Frederick 5 Potomac 4

After two of the P-Nats’ more reliable bullpen guys were given the bump up to AA, their replacements proved unequal to the task of holding a 4-1 lead as the Keys rallied for four runs in the last two innings to win the series opener, 5-4. Wil Crowe returned from Auburn and gave up the first Frederick run on a home run and three hits total over four innings. A.J. Bogucki followed and labored through two and 2/3rds innings, needing Taylor Guilbeau to get the one and only out he would get to finish the 7th. He opened up a singles bar in the 8th with four straight batters reaching without an out. Carlos Acevedo let in one of three runners he inherited to make it 4-3 then coughed up the lead in the 9th for the blown-save-loss with some “help” from Rhett Wiseman’s fourth (charged) error that allowed two runs to score on a botched throw after a sacrifice fly. Roster move: RHP Wil Crowe reassigned from Auburn.
Columbia 7 Hagerstown 6
• Tetreault 6IP, 10H, 5R, 5ER, 0BB, 4K, HR
• P. Morse 2IP, 1H, 0R, 3BB, 1K
• Brasher (L, 0-2) 1IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 0BB, 1K, 2HBP
• Pascal 3-4, SB
• Antuna 2-5, 2R, 3B
• Choruby 2-5, 3B, 2RBI, SB
After trailing 2-0 and 5-2, Hagerstown finally tied Columbia in the 6th but couldn’t match the ‘Flies two runs in the 9th as they got the equalizer into scoring position with one out but struck twice to lose, 7-6. Jackson Tetrault reverted to the mean with five runs allowed on ten hits, including a home run over six innings. The loss went to Jared Brasher who gave up two runs on three hits and hit two batters in the 9th. Juan Pascal let the Suns’ 14-hit parade with three singles, followed Yasel Antuna, Cole Freeman, Nick Choruby, and Jared Brasher who each had two hits. Roster move: RHP Jhonatan German promoted from Auburn.
Lowell 8 Auburn 5 (10 inn.)
• Teel 3IP, 4H, R, ER, BB, 0K
• Driskill (L, 1-1) 3IP, 4H, 3R, 2ER, BB, 2K
• Marinconz 2-4, 2B, BB
• Agustin 2-5, BB
• O’Connor 2-5, 2B
The Doubledays rallied to tie it in the 8th but couldn’t win it in the 9th and collapsed in the 10th for an 8-5 loss that completed the sweep by the Spinners. Carson Teel got the start and went three innings with one run allowed on four hits and a walk and nary a whiff. The loss went to Tanner Driskill who was sent out for a third inning for the first time as pro and gave up three runs in the 10th. Telmito Agustin, Pablo O’Connor, and Kyle Marinconz combined for six hits, two walks, and two doubles as Auburn collected 10 hits total, but just four in 19 chances with RISP. Roster moves: RHP Alec Maley, LHP Nelson Galindez reassigned from the GCL.
GCL Marlins 8 GCL Nationals 1
• Schaller (L, 0-1) 1⅔ IP, 5H, 2R, 2ER, 0BB, 3K, HR
• A. Hernandez 4IP, 6H, 2R, 2ER, 0BB, 5K
• Robles 0-0, R, 2BB, HBP, SB, CS
• Perez 1-3, BB, RBI
The G-Nats took another circle ’round the drain as they dropped an 8-1 decision to the G-Marlins. Reid Schaller lost his first game on two runs surrendered on five hits, including a homer, over an inning an 2/3rds. Victor Robles walked twice and… wait for it… was hit by a pitch. He scored the G-Nats lone run after a botched pickoff moved him to second ahead of Wilmer Perez’s RBI single Perez also walked while Eric Senior and Jesus Morales also singled to round out the three-hit, three-walk barrage.
Gil. Luke. Have we seen more promotions post draft and SS clubs
Opening in any other year prior compared to today ?
Some happy fans seeing Nelson Galindez and John German get a bump ?
What is the arsenal of UK alum Alex
Maley?
Braymer probably pitches inning 2
After Koda ?
Anybody watch NatsTalk this morning ? Any juicy conversion??
Or just nostalgia talk between the two ??
I’m expecting Glover to pitch the 1st, maybe part of the 2nd if he doesn’t throw 10 pitches (it is Frederick, after all) then Braymer.
Victor Robles HBP who knew …
