It was another win in the 9th, but this time it was a walkoff for Richmond over Harrisburg, 4-3. Matt Crownover allowed three runs on seven hits and five walks over five innings for his fourth no-decision in eight starts. R.C. Orlan loaded the bases in the 9th on a single and two walks (one intentional). Phillips Valdez came in and got the grounder to third but the Sens couldn’t get the inning-ending DP. the next batter singled to plate the gamewinner, which pinned the loss on Orlan. Corban Joesph led the Harrisburg hit column with a 3-for-4 night.

For the third straight night, the Red Sox shut out the P-Nats – this one by a 5-0 count on three hits. Grant Borne gave up all five runs on seven hits and two walks over five and a 1/3rd innings. He struck out six while losing his fourth game. Victor Robles was sole Potomac batter to reach base twice as he singled, walked, and stole two bases. Rhett Wiseman and David Masters accounted for the other two hits, both singles.

SSDL, as Charleston completed the three-game sweep and knocked Hagerstown into second place with a 6-0 shutout on two (2) hits. Weston Davis was chewed up for five runs on eight hits and spit out by the Riverdogs after just an inning and 2/3rds. Hayden Howard stranded a runner while ending the five-run rally and pitched four more innings of one-run ball. The Suns put on just seven baserunners and went 0-for-5 with RISP.

The Lake Monsters roared for four in the 8th to turn a 6-4 deficit into an 8-6 win over the Doubledays in the opener. Brigham Hill got the start and was knocked around for three runs on four hits and two walks over two and 2/3rds innings. He struck out three. The loss (and blown save) went to Michael Rishwain, who gave up four runs on four hits and a walk over two and a 1/3rd innings. Branden Bogetto doubled three times and drove in two while Armond Upshaw singled, doubled, scored twice, and stole two bases to lead the Auburn offense.

Tomas Alastre tossed five innings of one-run relief before turning it over to Jared Johnson, who worked around two walks in the 9th for the win. Yasel Antuna walked twice and singled twice to lead the G-Nats hit parade.
